Forgot to Make Copies

I submitted my I-129f and I completely forgot to make copies of the original application.

How bad is this and is there a way to rectify it?

It's definitely good to have a duplicate copy...is there a way that you can "re-create" the packet? Might be a lot of work, but it's probably worth it...

10/29/10 - received appointment for Biometrics

11/22/10 - Biometrics appointment

Currently: Living blissfully with my Essex lad...

I can recreate the packet as i have all of the documents stored electronicly.(Without Signatures)

I'm sure you'll be ok. We never needed our copies. It's probably good to have incase you get an RFE...but if you can regenerate the docs easily, I wouldn't worry.

07-22-2008 - Transferred to CSC!

07-28-2008 - Email from CRIS confirming CSC received case

08-25-2008 - Received AP in the mail (NO STATUS CHANGE OR CRIS EMAIL)

08-29-2008 - Received EAD card in the mail (NO STATUS CHANGE OR CRIS EMAIL)

09-22-2008 - Received Email from CRIS for I-485 "CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!"

09-27-2008 - Received Green Card in the mail!

As Nicole said, you probably won't need the copies...and you can always send the regenerated copies for signatures without too much problem...

I never had a hard copy of mine (except documents on computer), and never needed to use it, I am sure you will be alright :)

07/11/2005 Received by NVC - on way to Consulate!! yeah!!

07/11/2005 Applied for Police Certificate

15/11/2005 Police Clearance Cert Arrived

17/11/2005 Received at Consulate

30/11/2005 Medical at Edinburgh Nuffield Screening Center

03/12/2005 Packet 3 Received from Consulate!! Yipee!!

08/12/2005 X-Ray and Medical Results delivered by Courier

09/12/2005 Packet 3 Sent back to Consulate

20/12/2005 National Police Certificate Arrives! *(TIP: it takes FULL 40 days to arrive, so apply early!)*

09/01/2006 Visa Interview date - (cant make it, asked for another date)

30/01/2006 Visa Interview - VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

02/02/2006 FLY TO NEW YORK TO BE WITH MY BABY!!! WOHOOOOOO!!! so happy!

Copies you usually make for yourself. The government workers can lose them or the documents might not reach the embassy and so on. But for the future, you'd better make copies of all documents you fill. Good luck to you!

Best practice is to make two full copies. One for your reference and one for the beneficiary's reference and study guide for interview preparation. In case anything goes missing between submission and interview, the beneficiary is wise to carry their copy to the interview, so anything missing can be replaced.

Your electronic copies without signature will do fine for that. You have them backed up, right?
