Women are diagnosed with alot more diseases these days and sometimes I wonder are these women really sick or doctors diagnosing and putting them in fear to actually believe in it and catch that disease?

These days I'm so scared I see so many warnings for HPV shots before being sexually active and then another HPV for women 30 years +

How can you tell about these things? Has anyone looked into it and seen the symptoms?

What are some diseases or situations where women can't have kids? Things you find in blood?

I feel this is important information for all women here to read and input on if they like, and I'm scared to go to Doctors because I don't want to know if I have something. I'm scared for cancers today. Is there any way to prevent them or to know what to avoid?

I avoid microwaves by the way I heard standing infront of them while power is on can mess up your reproductive system or cause brain cancer?

Sarah

The sickest I ever got was in Algeria. They have no emissions control and diesel just spews into the air and boats spew fumes and hundreds die from asthma attacks they could have survived here in the USA. My lungs were so badly chemically burned in Oran I am still only at 40 percent capacity breathing...Algeria has alot of environmental problems with sewage, refuse and toxic fumes....etc...I wouldnt be too scared of microwaves...You ll be fine...Just dont sleep next to any ports in Algeria and if you do,wear a face mask

If you avoid doctors and g-d forbid you have cancer it might be too late. If you go get checked out proactively a little something might end up being nothing and controllable. The HPV vaccine is preventative to keep you from getting the virus that can cause cervical cancer. There are all sorts of reasons why women cant have kids both detectable and undetectable. The best thing to do is control your health and visit all required doctors and specialists on a regular basis.

I think the trick is balancing things. You have to look out for your health and do some regular check-ups, but sometimes it goes too far. You have to keep in mind that someone makes a lot of money to produce those vaccines and medicine. Research these things and find out the pros and the cons before you get something that is optional.

absolutely. and dont pop a pill for something just because a doctor tells you it will help! especially for mental issues.

I actually read an article about that being a myth two days ago. If I can find it online I will send it, but it was inside the new issue of "Womans Health" if you're interested. Basically its false! So stand and observe your food all you want! lol

See things like that drive me nuts. Before I heard of the microwave thing I would stand there and i didn't feel anything now If I stand infront of a microwave and its in power I get sick in my stomache. Theyre causing us to think ourselves into sickness. I'm so sick of it!!!

You got that right!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Just to second this, microwaves do not use any form of radiation while cooking your food, even though we do use the term 'nuke it'. :)

Actually, microwaves use radio waves which excite water (and I think a few other types of particles, but I can't recall at the moment). The water absorbs the energy which gets converted into heat.

Metal reflects the microwaves, which is why most of the lining of your microwave is made of it. You'll also notice a metal grill in front of all openings and between your glass. The small holes between the grill are specifically of the size so that microwaves can not pass through. (The amplitude of the wave is larger than the hole in the grill.)

On a side note, if your grill in your glass ever gets damaged (say a few "legs" break and there's effectively a larger hole in the grill), you'll want to get it checked out!

Part of the reason women are diagnosed more is they go to the doctor more, are more in tune with their bodies and take preventative measures more often than men. THough the power of suggestion is very strong. If you think you are sick, there's a very real possibility of you actually feeling sick.

Regarding HPV, GET THE SHOT! I got HPV even though my sexual history is definitly PG13. Hearing you have cervical cancer is SO scary. Thankfully its very treatable with early detection (why going for a PAP is essential) and now is preventable with the shot. Obviously its not going to prevent all strains of HPV, but it does prevent the most common forms. SO yes, this is a preventable cancer.

Regarding where women can't have children, there are tons of problems with fertility and pregnancy. Several of these are treatable or preventable by seeing an OB/GYN regularly. For instance Gonorrhea (an STD) can cause scarring in the fallopian tubes, raising your risk of an ectopic pregnancy. A simple test for STD's can pick this up and treat it before it causes a problem.

I totally understand not wanting to know about an untreatable disease, but so many things that go wrong are treatable. You can also find out what to avoid by speaking with a knowledgeable physician. Basically eat healthy, exercise, don't smoke, don't drink excessively and enjoy life.

I always feel knowledge is power. Go speak with a health professional to discuss your concerns and educate yourself so you can have the healthiest and most enjoyable life you can!

HPV is a virus that comes from the wart family.

There are many different strains varients of it. Some that raise the risk of cervical cancer, others that give symptoms (warts in genital area - one wart or a lot of them) and some that are symptomless.

It is the symptomless one that has created a silent epidemic. Men often don't show symptoms and women don't either until they have a bad pap smear.

One positive note...they say that some varients of the HPV will show up in a bad pap smear or lesion. But if you get it treated and take care of yourself, the virus-load reduces to near non-detecable levels. Then it is only a matter of having regular pap smears.

Ask me how I know...My mom used to work in a hospital and her boyfriend is a doctor. All the physicians had a meeting about this HPV.

Personally, I think it is wise to have the vaccine.

The HPV usually shows itself (if it's the "silent type") as cervical cancer (or precancerous) on a PAP smear. Treatment involves a painful biopsy, then either a LEEP procedure (hot wire loop scraping off the area of the cervix effected), laser treatment or cryosurgery (freezing off the effected area). Any which way, the treatment is not fun, scary and prevents normal activities for weeks. And this is if they catch it early. If you leave it, the cancer slowly grows like any other cancer and can spread to other areas of the body. Keep in mind, even if a woman has no sexual history before marriage, if her husband has had sex he can pass it on to her. While condoms cut down on the spread of the virus, they do not prevent it 100%.
