Hello!

My fiance and I are planning on having a civil ceremony in a courthouse after he first arrives and an official ceremony later.

I am a Washington state resident, but I am currently living in Oregon and going to school. I was just wondering, should I go to a courthouse in Washington or Oregon, or does it matter?

I was just wondering if the marriage certificate had to be from the state that I'm a resident of.

Hi,

You don't have to marry in the state that you're a resident of. One of my friends, who is living in Los Angeles got married with his Chinese wife in Las Vegas.. They didn't had any problems with that back then and still have no problems with it :)

N400 Timeline:

12/14/11 - Sending out N400 package

12/19/11 - Received by USCIS

12/21/11 - NOA date

12/22/11 - Check cashed

12/27/11 - Received NOA

02/06/12 - Received yellow letter (pre-interview case file review)

03/13/12 - Placed in line for interview scheduling (3 yr anniversary)

03/17/12 - Received interview letter

04/17/12 - Interview - No decision, application under further review

04/17/12 - Biometrics

04/25/12 - Placed in line for oath scheduling (so I'm approved yay!)

04/27/12 - Received oath ceremony date

05/09/12 - Oath ceremony!!

January 19th, 2010 -- Damian got his PA license.

December 10th - 19th, 2010 -- Visited England

September 16th - 30th, 2011 -- Damian's Parents came to visit us here in PA.

June 1st, 2011 -- Mailed ROC to Vermont.

February 21st, 2012 -- 10 Year Green Card Received

April 14th, 2012 -- N-400 Sent to Dallas Lockbox

November 26th, 2012 – Damian Became a US Citizen!!!

it doesnt matter what state, as long as you will have ur wedding around US only, .......my fiance is living in Michigan and we might get married in Las Vegas or Florida. Best Wishes....and Congrats!....

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
