Surely something is up! I hope you get some good news this week!!

But my question is: are there only FEW people who got all these recent touches, or are there many? If they are many couldn't it simply mean that they have sent the names to the FBI for the background checks, or that they are rearranging their files somehow? I WANT to believe that no, it is because someone is taking a look at our applications and feeling they are straightforward cases that can be sent to our embassies because a K-3 ought to be fast... BUT...

another part of me says, do NOT be too excited... it might stop here and still would have to wait your 4-5-6 months like anyone else....

Oh pretty PLEASEEEEE PLEASE!! :innocent:

Now.... who else got a touch today?????

Goodluck Paris .... from what I've read on this site, most people who get a lot of touches seem to get approvals not too far down the line. It would be nice to see another VSC approval and give hope to the rest of us that maybe VSC is doing something other than working on H1-B's and K1's.

C'mon VSC, you know you can do it ..... our files are really no different in content to the fiance's who file.

And while you're at it VSC, can you give me a touch too please ???? .... just one will do, I don't even care if it's the janitor who touches me right now .... sorry to sound desperate for a touch, but at least I won't feel as though my file has been slung into a dusty corner never to be seen again

could the "touches" just mean they updated their system? they had an outage on April 11  they are probably just resorting all the paper files again.. my last touch was still 4/13.. hopefully I'll get another one this week.. if not, I'm back to complaining..

I know.. but you have to listen to both the good side and bad side.. I really want an approval too.. I have been waiting 1 year now for a decision.. I am as mad as hell too..  at least give me a decision so I can continue with my life (either here if it is good, or back in China with her if it is bad).. the last CSC person I called said I had a "target date" of April 24.. so hopefully something will be done by that time.. have any of you gotten any "target dates" ?? (as a result of a service request created).. did they meet their promise on it?

A YEAR?????? Why so long??? What did they lose your paperwork??? this is NUTS!!!! Im so sorry.

No, I have no idea of a target date of anykind except thru VJ somewhere in Mid to late July.

I just dont understand why all the K1 VSC is cranking out, why not on the rest of the petitions, does not make sence, they are basically the same, name checks, check the paperwork, etc.

I will wait to my time line in July, and if nothing I will call, the only thing I do know for sure, we will not give up, and I will be with him once again come September. Even though is only a short while, it means more to us then anything.

Yes I did, thankyou Paris. Yes, I was a little quiet due to it all getting on top of me I guess.

We applied for an expedite a couple of weeks back due to a close family unexpected bereavement and another close family member being diagnosed with terminal cancer and given a couple of months to live .... they turned us down  c'est la vie

It's sad to think I won't see these people again because of this process. My poor Husband is dealing with the emotions of it all on his own due to being stuck 5 states away from his family because of work. There is no more leave time left (for now), and I don't have enough documented ties to the UK which would suffice for an Immigration Officer to feel comfortable enough to let me in for a few weeks to help the family.

I know it sounds a bit pathetic, but I'm quite grateful for you guys on here ..... you're keeping me sane as far as this process is concerned.

C'mon VSC, have a heart and just mass approve everyone like you seem to do with the K1's ..... pretty please .... all these months of waiting for just 15 minutes of their time ..... it's quite heartbreaking.

oh, haha.. you didn't follow my story.. quick overview..

Like everyone else waited 6 months from April 2007... in-between these I made lots of calls and sent lots of faxes to senators, congressmen, vice president, president, FBI, FOIA, Ombudsman, and others...

http://www.duluth.lib.mn.us/Databases/Contact/Federal.html

http://www.visaserve.com/CM/Articles/CIS%2...tact%20List.pdf

These are some of the places I used..

October - someone said I had security checks.. so I sent letter to president in November, with a transfer letter to Dept of Justice, then a transfer letter to "Chief of Names / Records Division" from FBI.. I received letter in March stating I had NO SECURITY CHECKS on my case.. so I don't know what they are doing.. I have proof that it is not SECURITY CHECK RELATED OR BACKLOG RELATED (now that they are done with September, so it is after the backlog supposedly)..

November 27, 2007 - transfer apps to local office, I was like #######?

December 26, 2007 - went in Infopass to check , they said case no longer there, but at NBC (National Benefits Center) but will be requested to sent back

February 21 , 2008 - received letter to go in for local office interview.. brought my parents too.. they said that China has too many fake marriages, so they just wanted to be sure.. barely sat down and the guy said "everything looks fine because you brought your parents - you will receive approval notice within 10 days".. yeah right..

sometime in March - kept calling and faxing.. and creating different service requests.. but finally made a "expedite" request and was granted..

April - kept calling and some people were rude and we argued over the phone.. they told me to wait another 6 months.. I said "so what happens after 6 months??".. then they start giving me a bad attitude.. they said I have a "target date" of April 24 for my I-129F, and "mid-May" target date for I-130.. I'll take either one at this moment..

Timeline
oh no.. I didn't get one today (4/14/2008).. the website still says last updated 4/13/2008 for me :crying: I guess we are out of the loop again..

I hope this helps…..

For those that filed prior to October, you may want to try and call a few days after your recent touches, and talk to someone to obtain a verbal update. There has to be some reason for your delay and they should be able to at least tell you why.

We mailed our I-130 petition the end of October. Mailed our I-129F in January and only received touches about once a month. The last touch or touches, occurred the end of March and then nothing for over a week. We then received our NOA2 by mail with no apparent notice or update on the USCIS website.

They seem to be moving faster, so for those who “mailed” the I-130’s early this year, it may be another month or two before you have approval.

None of this is written in stone, I’m only using my case and other timelines as information on current norms. Our case seems fairly strait forward and with no complication, however, complications or missing information in a petition will always cause delays.

I know the difficulty of being patient, but endurance will always help.

I wish all luck and speed in being together with our loved ones.
