Here are some links, for those who are still thinking it's not true.

Visa: A citizen of a foreign country, wishing to enter the U.S., generally must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Visa applicants will need to apply overseas, at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate, generally in their country of permanent residence. The type of visa you must have is defined by immigration law, and relates to the purpose of your travel. A visa allows a foreign citizen to travel to the United States port-of entry, and request permission of the U.S. immigration inspector to enter the U.S. Issuance of a visa does not guarantee entry to the United States. The CBP Officer at the port-of-entry determines whether you can be admitted and decides how long you can stay for any particular visit.

U.S. Department of State - Glosary of Visa Terms

Admission to the U.S.

If you are an alien, the CBP Officer must determine why you are coming to the United States, what documents you may require, if you have those documents, and how long you should be allowed to initially stay in the United States. These determinations usually take less than one minute to make. If you are allowed to proceed, the officer will stamp your passport and customs declaration form and issue a completed Form I-94 to you. A completed form I-94 will show what immigration classification you were given and how long you are allowed to stay.

Also, If you are an alien, CBP Officers may decide that you should not be permitted to enter the United States. There are many reasons why this might happen (see INA § 212(a)). You will either be placed in detention, or temporarily held until return flight arrangements can be made. If you have a visa, it may be cancelled. In certain instances, Officer(s) may not be able to decide if you should be allowed into the United States. In this case, your inspection may be deferred (postponed), and you will be instructed to go to another office located near your intended destination in the United States for further processing.

This isn't helping.

Yes, it can happen...no one said it wasn't true....I said I HOPE it's not true...there is a difference.

I understand you have to prove that you are right for whatever reason and we all believe you...this can happen.

For some, it's not helping with already overactive nerves and fears so let's cool it.

No need to worry, the fact that it might happen, does not mean that it will happen to you! Especially if you did everything the right way.

The only one case where I can think this could happen, is someone admitting they got married before entering. On the reviews of the POEs several couples have said, they ask tricky questions like "so when did you get married?" "what does your husband does for a living?" So as long as your fiance answers the right way, she should be fine!

Getting married before entering on the K-1 is the only case that I can think of being denied at the POE.

I'm simply stating the facts. Just because you were not aware that this might happen, it does not make automatically makes "doubtful".

Whenever someone posts something I ignored, I'm thankful that I learned something new. Wishing that something I didn't know before isn't true... is not very wise.

I'd rather be well aware that it wont be over until I passed the CBP that being too cool thinking the K-1 is my guarantee and that any type of answer given at the POE wont affect my entry to the U.S. But that is just me!

If someone has the tendency to overreact or get too nervous, then that person has a lot of learning to do during this process.

Wishing that something as horrible as being denied after months of waiting and waiting and finally being given a document stating you can be together is horrible and is something I wished didn't happen to some people.

There is nothing wrong with that at all. I'm not denying it happens and it is a good thing to know.

Not everyone can be super strong and stress free during this time. Some people are more sensitive than others, that's life. I was just looking out for someone's feelings.

This discussion makes me have a few questions about entry on a Visa Waiver. We made travel plans and bought tickets before we even started the K1 process. I'm going to UK in May and he's coming here for his birthday in July...well MAYBE he is. He has no intentions of staying here. We're committed to just going through the process and not taking any shortcuts.

So my question is---How do they know if you're in the immigration process? Does it pop up on a computer screen because you're in the system? He's been here 3-4 times a year for years. They always ask "What is the purpose of your visit?" and he tells them "to visit friends." Sometimes they say "you come here alot", sometimes they chit-chat about his job with the police.

We don't want to break any rules, and the intention of his visit in July is to see friends and go back home, not immigrate. Do any of you see that as a problem or lying on the Visa Waiver card? Do you have any first-hand knowledge of a similar situation. I'm just curious about what your thoughts are.

Not to burst the bubble, but we have had a VJ member get turned around at the POE because there was a problem with an officer at the POE overriding the ruling of the Embassy. If I remember correctly it was liam4lisa and it won't show up on a search from here, since it all happened on the previous VJ site. I think it was something to do with a waiver the Embassy approved and the officer saying they made a mistake, etc etc. It took a while to sort out, but he was eventually reunited with his fiance.

It really is a very rare thing, I think liam4lisa is the only person (other than those who made the getting married before entry mistake) that had this happen to them. So to BigCityDave and every one else freaking out, please calm down! :)

Good point Cassie. Dont think anyone needs to worry about this issue. It's very rare that it happens. I like your " Tha gaol agam ort " saying. Touch of the Scottish Gaelic there i see lol.
