hi i am just wondering what vaccinations i will need for my k1 visa. could anyone give me a list of the exact ones that i need. also which ones could i get for free on nhs

thanks

MMR and TD shots are definitely two of them... What country are you from? In the Philippines, if you haven't had chicken pox, they will give you varicella vaccines and MMR. TD shots are not available there so I had it here in US.

If you have a look at the document here http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-03/tbl1-cs-clrd.pdf it lists what vaccinations are required for AOS, K1s dont have a vaccination requirement, but cheaper to get them done in the Uk.

tetanus/diptheria...

NO vaccinations are required for a K-1 visa though some will argue that a consulate such as London does.

YMMV

Deansteele,

That would depend what country that you are from. My husband is from Turkey and b/c he didn't have a record of vaccinations that he had received in the past he was made to get more then he should have. Again, that is the standard in Turkey you would have to check with where your from.

oh right, so the only definately thing id have to pay for is the actual medical. £180 right? anyhing else is just a pre warning that i "should" have them

The medical is £170 + vat unless vaccinations are required, then there is a fee at the interview for them to send you the visa by courier about £14.00

For K-1 you wont need them until you are in the USA and adjusting status, but some us consulates insist that they are done.

What is needed: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti-03/tbl1-cs-clrd.pdf

From Manila:

“K†visa applicants, as nonimmigrant visa applicants, are technically not subject to the vaccination requirement. “K†visa applicants who refuse to comply with the vaccination requirement will not be denied a visa on that basis. As a matter of expediency, however, it is encouraged that “K†visa applicants meet the vaccination requirement before they are admitted into the U.S.

So these vaccinatiions. Can you get your own local practice to do them or does it have to be the Doctors by the Embassy?

You can get then at your local doctor, and then bring the vaccination record with you to the medical specified by embassy, and also keep a copy of the record for later use when adjusting status in the USA, you will need to get that record transfered to a vaccination supplement by a US Civil Surgeon for inclusion with the AOS application.

or you can make sure you get a copy of the DS-3025 from the panel physician and submit that instead.
