Ideas on Proof of Relationship?

Hi,

My fiance and I have been dating for 3.5+ years and I have actually lived next to him for the past 18 months in Morocco, so I am not too concerned about establishing validity, but I was wondering if we could put PDF files of some of our emails/chats and even a video of us together and burn it onto a CD instead of creating a larger paper burden....

Have any of you tried this/thought of this? Do you think that it would be accepted?

We are hoping to get everything into VSC ASAP to take advantage of those amazing processing times! So any thoughts on this in the next day or two would be great...

Just print out a few things. That would be best, the employees there really don't have the time or interest to go through a CD. I would not recommend this as at all however you may try and see if that works. I have not heard of any cases where the petitioner did that.

Just follow the examples given here in the guides for the K1 Visa.

They didn't allow my fiance to bring in a cd he had of us together. But it was a different embassy. I wouldnt risk though.

Its probably best to follow the guidelines provided. Printed copies will make it easier and less time consuming for the officer interviewing you. I just cant imagine that they have time to load documents etc.

I was thinking of the same thing but I guess I will have to follow what others have said or did because they have been through with the process so they know better than us.

If I was an officer overlooking the petition and had to go through a CD I would be less prone to give out any Visa for that petition when I already have so many other things I need to do.

They wont accept a CD.

They want hard copies of what you are submitting. The workers deal with file folders and most of the government computers will be locked down and they cant put in disks etc to copy things. think about it.

Also they wont include the CD in your file because they can get broken easily with all the shipping it will go thru to get to DC. You should submit in the format they ask for. Just follow the guides here.

They do accept cds, i have known some that sent but i have no way of knowing if they look at them, the person i do recall sent a cd got the visa but i dont know if they play ANY part to it and they went thru Casa also

Consider that an interviewer has to go through several people a day - I would guess around 20 or so - they do not have time to go through too much material - so be careful in taking too much and follow the advice of others who went through the same embassy. In the end though, you need to be comfortable with the amount of stuff you are taking for your visa. I am a minimalist and try and send the minimum possible at each stage. Good Luck

Going thru Casa is just the opposite you have to show all your guns the first time (in the form of the application) because more often than not they have their mind made up before the interview and hardly ask to see any more evidence , so do it very complete the first time, im assuming they look at the next days interviews the day before arrival and this material is what they will use to get alot of the questions they will ask

I also heard that they do not have the time to watch video or hear recordings.

Hard copies are what they want to see, if they even look at them.
