I saw this story on 48 hours mystery! Talk about a messed up story...at one point they said that she was engaged to 3 different men (at the same time) and the ALL lived under the same roof...how does THAT work exactly?

No I don't really think it's fair to her. She should get worse,why you ask she killed someone. Someone loved this man (obviously not her) I think people nowadays get off way too easy with murder. Whether its first degree or premeditated or not she killed someone. Also she did it for money what a greedy BIOTCH!!! Nothing I hate worse then a greedy woman who kills a man. For crying out loud if you wanted money that bad play the lotery, you then have more of a chance getting it then as apposed to killing him then getting it. Another thing is that people think that it might be too long ask his family what she should have gotten as far as punishment. I beleive the jury shouldn't do cases anymore you might have ones that are paid off or ones who just don't understand who allow people to walk right away. I believe you ask a family what that persons life was worth and spend that in money or jail.

Both the person who was convicted of committing the murder (a man) and the person who obtained the life insurance policy on Leppink with intent to defraud the insurers by cashing in the policy after the murder (a woman) recieved the same sentence. How is this an example of a woman being treated differently to a man?

I remember reading or seeing something about this case. I think the reason she got such a long sentence had something to do with the details of the case. But I do think that when a woman commits murder or is party to murder, we do react more strongly. I'm not saying that I think women's sentences should be reduced, necessarily, but perhaps some of the men's sentences should be lengthened.
