And even IF he can't vote? What is his one vote compared to the many he might attract to Obama....

Wisely said. Never underestimate the pull of artists with their fans; and 50 Cent has quite the following.

Particularly the ones who simply go for what their "idol" goes for...clothing, music...why not a political opinion as well?

Fifty Pence

You're giving him too much credit. More like 25 pence.

Camp Hillary was welcoming his support while they had it. Now he's a non-person all of a sudden? Man, whoever has Hillary and her supportsers as friends sure needs no enemies.

Yes, because I CLEARLY said that when comparing $ to £.

What an insult to his fans.

I don't think it's an insult, Dev. A lot of young voters will follow their icons even in political decisions. I am not saying it is smart, but I could compare the attitude to those who will vote for Hillary because she's a woman, or for Barack because he is a black man. Smart? not really. Happening? you betcha.

Peace, L.

THanks, I didn't mean it as an insult at all, but it's a fact that "idols" like music artists, actors,...influence how especially young people think and what choices they might make.

THat's the whole principle behind all the endorsement. If everyone would strictly make their own opinions based on (political) facts, no candidate would need all those supporters.

50 Cent tries to enter politics

Presumably as part of his ongoing frustration at being bested by Kanye West at every turn, 50 Cent has had his people rustle up some political observations for him.

Cent has appeared to support the Iraq war in the past, popping over to help the troops keep their peckers up. Which makes his sudden conversion to being anti-war a little awkward:

"Me and George Bush were both born on July 6. He has less compassion than a regular human being.

"We are so different. I actually went to Iraq because I went to perform for the soldiers.

"Bush just sends people to war."

50 Cent, of course, is well known for his hatred of pointless violence and his disgust at the suggestion that guns and shooting and killing are cool and.... oh, hang on, he isn't, is he?

But turning to next year's elections, who does 50 Cent fancy?

"I'd like to see Hillary Clinton be president.

"It would be nice to see a woman be the actual president."

The actual president? As opposed to what, exactly? Are there fake lady Presidents we've been missing out on?

Still, you've got to applaud Cent's grasp of the complex political issues facing a Democrat planning a run in 2008 - he's able to identify which one has the skirt. Well done, Fiddy.

and

"I heard Obama speak," said the rapper. "He hit me with that he-just-got-done-watching-'Malcolm X,' and I swear to God, I'm like, 'Yo, Obama!' "He threw his fist in the air. "I'm Obama to the end now, baby!"

But hold on, 50 also admitted that he's become bored with the overall race for the White House.

"To be honest, I haven't been following that anymore. I lost my interest," he said. "I listened to some of the debate and things that they were saying, and I just got lost in everything that was going on. ... Don't look for my vote, for me to determine nothing on that. Just say, '50 Cent, he don't know, so don't ask Fiddy.'

Well... if 50 Cent says with Obama... we must all vote the same way he is.

Diana

I don't think he can vote - he's got some criminal convictions for drug dealing I believe.

Thats not true!! What makes you think that???

Whether he can vote or not I don't know but he's been convicted on drug related charges.

Only Kentucky and Virginia permanently disenfranchise convicted felons from voting. I believe that 50 Cent resides in NY so.... once a NY State prisoner has been released (meaning the term of his sentence has been completed), full voting rights are restored. (Convicted felons who receive probation do not lose their voting rights in NYS.) See link

Curtis Jackson reached his maximum expiry date in 2003.... so he can vote.

Wow, 50 cent, What a shining example of intellect and judgment. That changes my perspective all together!

The people that are his fans NEVER show up to vote, no matter how much outreach and rock the vote kind of ####### you pile on them. They don't care.

Might even give a few people a reason to vote against Obama.

My beloved Joy is here, married and pregnant!

You always laugh at your own jokes/insults at the end of your posts... but I guess someone has to laugh at them...
