Help with NOA1

Ok, I sent my I-129F on March, 3, 2008, I know the Vermont Service Center recieved the next day and I also know they cashed my check on the 10th. I still haven't received any notice or anything. What do I do now? just wait a little bit longer?

Yeh, I'd just wait awhile before trying to call or anything.

Have you checked your case status at uscis.org? It'll let you know if you've been touched or anything. But just because they cashed your check doesn't mean they've even opened your file yet. I think they take our money pretty automatically

Now with your NOA 1 you wait patiently for your NOA 2. It could take 3-8 months.

Hey,

It's only been about 25 days. Some people take one month, maybe longer to get their NOA1. If you know that the govt. has cashed the check and received it, then you should be getting an NOA2.

It took us four months to get our NOA2 from CSC, but I know Vermont moves A LOT faster, I have heard of some people getting their NOA 2 in one month!!

Just be patient, Iknow it SUCKS, it sucks for everyone. I HATE it, but just remember that after you're finished with this process, you and your fiance will be together forever and you'll never have to do this again or be separated again!!

I think you mean uscis.gov - "uscis.org" looks like it might be one of those sites set up to fool people into thinking they are visiting a government website.

Your receipt number is on the back of your cancelled check, if you didn't already know - check with your bank to see if you can get a copy of it, or if you can view it online.

Figures they would cash the check first

I recall reading a post last month that someone assumed the process would be:

- Mail room receives packet and removes check

- General office staff open and sort document

- Collects dust

- Collects some more

- Adjudicator starts looking at it

- Etc

Keep in mind there is no way to prove any of that, but it does seem plausible.
