Hey all...I'm new to this whole process. My boyfriend and I have decided that we want to get married, here in the U.S. All of this has been decided since I came back here from a visit to Brazil, so no I don't actually have a ring or anything, but our "intent" is very real and true. I'm just looking for any advice or suggestions about beginning the process. Anything will be much appreciated! I have spent countless hours on the internet, and now on this site, researching the K1 visa. I just think it would be great to hear from those actually going through the same thing. Thanks so much for your time :)

You can check the blue giude tap above and find out everything you need to know. After reading through it, if you have a question you

can post in the Brazilian forum ( Latin America ) to get embassy specific answers, each embassy has their own pattern and quirks so it would be

most helpful to ask members who have been through or are going through that process.

There is also a K1 forum.

Drop by anytime for chit chat in the sub-saharan forum. We will try to help with your questions as best we can.

For now gather any communication evidence, such as phone records, emails, chats, letters, cards, I hope you both took lots of pics together

later for the embassy. Keep your boarding pass and any receipts you may have from Brazil.

Then just follow the guides.

Welcome to VJ and wishing you a speedy visa journey !

Good luck on your journey.

Look at the guides, start a timeline for us to help you, and ask specific questions when they come up. Never feel any question is too small or too stupid. We are here to help.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
