Thanks a lot for the advice and it does look like we are in the same boat. I will be filing the I-130 by the end of the month (waiting on 1 more thing for the packet).

It will be nice to see how our timelines match up as we go along :)

Should they be noterized or is that not necessary?

Thanks for the help.

I submitted 3 affidavits from families. They're all notarized. it adds weight to the docs. Plus it is required.

See page 2 of the I-130 instruction. It says... Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-130instr.pdf

That and the fact that its called an "affidavit" made me come to a conclusion that it had to be notarized

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affidavit

Good luck!

Hi there,

an "affidavit" A statement made on oath as before a notary public..

Its better if you had it notarized.

i had 7 witness affidavits with 4 copies for each one and i had it notarized..

Should they be noterized or is that not necessary?

Thanks for the help.

You don't need them notarized at all. I went to my senator representative and he said its not needed for the I-130.

my sentor said letters family and friends were not needed.
