Advance Parole, How many copies???

Hi all,

My wife is traveling on advance parole soon. We got 2 copies of the advance parole is that all we need? I thought I read somewhere that there is suppose to be 3?

There are 2 copies....make sure you take both with you. Immigration will keep one copy on her return to the US.

Nope....didn't have any problems at all. I was advised to take my marriage cert and AOS NOA1 just in case...but I didn't need them. You should take yours just in case though. I was taken to "soft" by an IO for AP processing which only took 10 minutes. They stamped my passport and gave me one of my AP papers back then sent me on my way.

This is probably a silly (and hopefully unneccesary) question, but if you have AP that is good for multiple uses and must bring both copies with you when you travel, then immigration keeps one copy upon your return to the US (leaving you with only one copy), how do you ever use it again?

Just wondering, and hopefully we'll receive the GC before we need to worry about it seriously...

Our lawyer told us to bring one copy and leave the other at home.

They keep one copy the first time you use AP.....then you can use the other copy as many times as you need.....they wont take that one.

Because on the first border crossing you make, a copy of it goes back to USCIS. This lets them know that you are now in a parolled status. Come your second trip, you're already in a parolled status and the USCIS doesn't need informing... I assume.

My AP was approved 2/29/07 and just received them today. I got 2 copies too. It has my photo on the lower left part of the I-512L. My question --- Should I see my name and signature above my photo? I am seeing a certain person's name/signature above my photo - just wondering if it should really look like that....

If you look at the text below the signature line, you'll see it's for the signing officer who is authorizing the AP.
