YES! I hate it when my computer goes down.. its so annoying! I can fix some stuff myself, and if i cant my hubby can... but still.. Its awful when it doesnt' work the way its supposed to...

HAHAHA I'm so glad other people are like I am. My computer's power supply failed and fried my harddrive two months ago. I was without internet and computer access for a week. IT KILLED!!!!

I freak out when my computer doesn't work...... or when the internet server is out of service for some reason! It feels like I need to check if it's back to normal every 5 min and if it's not I feel like I won't be able to live much longer....... It sucks..... I'm glad you made it!

I have gotten pretty good at fixing Luz's computer over the phone. For some reason her's is always got some problem or another. Right now we are having issues with her "so-called DSL". It works fine in her morning but as the day goes on it gets worse and worse until it doesn't work at all by her night time.

My computer bit the big one a few days ago. It just started rebooting on it's own. I had to replace the power supply, the mother board and the proccessor. That really sucked but at least I was able to do it on my own.

Im an absolute mess if my computer messes up.....anyone would think its the end of the world lol and my children know to stay clear of me until its sorted out and fixed. I am so totally lost without my computer, even for a short time....the knowing its broke messes with my head

ME TOOOOOOOOOO Aussie!! (and everyone that related! ) I'm so jealous of you, Gary, and the others that can fix your own! This was a really simple thing, but I sooooooooo can't wait to get the new one...I'm tired of this old clunker! If it was anything major, I know nothing about how to get it going again. While I was in there I vacuumed it out..MAJOR DUST BUNNIES!! Lisa..that link was hilarious...I can't believe that...what next????? I'm also glad it got fixed, not just to talk to my honey(which is of the UTMOST importance!!) but Craig installed Excel on it for me and I've gotten hours and hours done on it already(3 just now) instead of having to sit in the lab at school...sooooo nice to do it in my jammies instead!! M.

Years ago my closest phone line got hit by a lightning strike, a really BIG one, which travelled along the cable line and blew out my modem - literally fried it AND the mother board.

The TV and phone was also out (and the viedo blew up) - but luckily it was shielded (the cable company put something along the line to keep it safe) but the PC - we didn't have a power surge protector and modem and MB were history.

Did I freak out?

Oh yeah

Luckily the HD wasn't torched - that would have REALLY freaked me out as I do computer graphics and ALL my work is stored here and my last backups to CD were..not current lol

Took a couple of weeks to replace things by which time I'm sure I developed a twitch

If you don't have one make sure you get a decent surge protector for your PC and indeed any electrical goods - seriously - you don't think it can happen to you until it DOES!
