I have found so much information and support on here - - I can't imagine my journey through Immigration w/o VJ and the great ppl I have met here:)

Very well put and Consolemaster:

I think what you posted to begin this thread is articulated in a way that is felt by many - including me. We have all gone thru this purgatory or going thru it and its not for the weak of heart. The info here is generally very good information that is brought forward by people that have been there.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

...but what I really love is that everyone here understands what it's like to go through this.

Yeah, basically. I get blank stares, stammered sympathy, and changed subjects when I try to talk about this stuff to other people who have never had to deal with immigration and its aftershocks. Nice to be with a group that gets it every once in awhile. I think the DCF Frankfurt thread saved my sanity on more than one occasion.

I'm glad we have a site like this. It brings everyone with foreign spouses together to deal with the immigration process. It helps out everybody. Even if we don't know the answer we can share our own experiences to shed some light on the solution. When I reflect back in the past on my journey to get my wife to the US, I cannot stop thinking the amount of dedication that everyone has on finding a solution to get their love ones here.

I am very found of this site. It is indeed better than most immigration forums out there. I saw TRACYTN at Immigrationportal.com. TRACYTN is also the MOD there just to let you know. If it wasn't for this site, it would've gone crazy because I don't even know where to begin.

VJ is a great site. I am glad you like this site very much. But I thought it was unnecesary to mention that TRACYTN is a mod in another site.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I don't understand why people are upset that the OP mentioned that Tracy mods another site. Other sites are mentioned here all the time. I'm sure it was a completely innocent comment meant for informational purposes only. Why does it matter so much? We all know VJ isn't the only immigration site on the internet.

This site is full of useful information and helpful people. (for the most part) I don't know how I would have completed the first part of this process successfully if it wasn't for VJ. And in fact, the next steps should be a breeze because of all those that came before us. We're very grateful for this site. And didn't even hurt to write all of this out.

VJ has ruined my life. I spend my days and nights preoccupied with being online..... needing more and more of VJ's intoxicating effects. If I can't get online I experience withdrawal symptoms. When I finally have access I tend to binge and I experience a decreased motivation for normal life activities. Can someone recommend a good treatment program? :(
