But dont compare Natashenika's timeline to mine. It's not black and white.

For example a fellow that's also using James shortcuts might get his visa bill in 1 week instead of 2 weeks that it took for mine.

Anyway, in my case, the shortcuts have save me at least three weeks so far because I've already sent my IV bill but my wife still have not received the DS-3032 form.

Because it trickles down, if you use all the 3 shortcuts we have, you might save about 1 to 3 months.

I'm James' shortcut follower, and from yesterday I'm walking in the glory of case completion. :) With RFE, Christmas on the way took 90 days from NOA2.

I believe this shortcut is not for everyone so choice is yours.

Also look at the example of Noelandtintin timeline he should consider changing his name e.i TornadoNoel because of going so faaast and this because James' shortcut :)

James's shortcuts only apply to CR1/IR1 applications. From the title and your information boyceedith, it seems you are applying for a K3.

I would say about 4 months, if you do everything promptly and there is no RFE. Shortcut would save you at least 3-4 weeks.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I'm a believer in the shortcuts but I dont recommend it for everyone. If one is not very experienced or confident in the use of his/her computer and word processor program, I'd say skip it. Because like you said... it's costly.

On the other hand, if you are confident in your computer skills enough and you're able to follow directions, then I say the shortcuts is a no-brainer. There's enough of us here on VJ to verify that the shortcuts do indeed work if done properly.

Anyway, all this is up to each individual petitioner/agent. You cant generalize it and go all philosophical on it.

thank you guys....yes maybe jame's shortcut is troublesome for us, anyway filling both i-130 and i-129f makes you k-3 but since we cancelled our i-129f and filing i-130 itself we are now cr1

Hi Edith,

The only reason I'm insisting is because I know you and my wife are now friends. :-) he he

Anyway, you should at least do the shortcut for DS-3032 Choice of Agent" form. You dont need a lot of technical know how. All you need to do is send an email to NVC.

This one little, simple shortcut have save Tintin and I at least 4 weeks. I'm ready to send my DS-230 visa application and my wife still have not received the DS-3032 form she was supposed to sign. Unbelievable.

Unfortunately, this DS-3032 form starts the whole process. If I didnt do the shortcut, we still would have been stuck on that first step.

Follow the link below. If you have any question, send me a PM or ask your question back on this forum. Lots of helpful folks around here.

When I look at the timelines- i don't really see that it saves most people much time at all to use James shortcuts. It seems helpful when mail takes a long time to reach them but I would estimate about 4 months at NVC without the use of them and another 2-3 weeks if you get an RFE. I personally am well versed with computers but I wouldn't want to forge my own government documents- its just not something I am willing to do so I am with you on that. However, I do suggest you have as much information ready as possible so you don't spend extra time trying to get that when you could be responding to the NVC.
