Filling up the g-325a

So, we're filing our I-130 very soon, we got everything ready, but there's something that is confusing us at this point, its regarding the g-325a form.

At the end of the form it is required that the "Applicant" should sign and date it.. and it has to be the original.. So one form for me, and one form for my wife (The applicant of the I-130) does that mean, she should sign both? or should I sign my copy ?

One other question, the wedding certificate that we're sending a photo of, should it be signed and noterized by the US embassy of my country?

We've been reading a lot everywhere and we're still new to this, so I apologize if this info was stated clearly somewhere.. thanks in advanced

Sign your G-325a and she needs to sign hers... Copy of marriage certificate is fine and no need to be notarized. Documents that are not in English should be translated and that's when you will need the signature of whoever translates it for you.

Remember the G325a is a four page form so you'll each sign for pages. A photocopy of an official government issued marriage certificate is acceptable. If it's not in English, check with somebody who knows exactly what the Consulate will eventually accept as a translation of that document.

Daher.Diane didn't state what he is filing for (k-3, cr-1...). on the g-325a there is a question: this form is submitted in connection with application for:

and there is 3 boxes that he need to check 1 of them. for example if he is petitioning for k-3 he has to check : other(specify):k-3 visa.

am i right? this is what i did in my case.

you seem to have a lot of knowledge about these issues, and i just want daher.diane to file his g-325a correctly.

Good point. For an I-130, you check "other" and write "CR1 visa". For an I-129F for spouse you check "other" and write "K3 visa" or in both cases, simply write the petition number.

Thank you for the extremely thorough information! If you hadn't specified this, we would have incorrectly submitted our forms with "I-129F." We are filing for the K-3 visa (which I'm hoping still exists...!!!)

I have one final question, on the G-325a there is a bold box that asks for the applicant's name and Permanent Resident number. Should each person but their own name? My wife is a citizen, and therefore does not have a permanent resident number, and I am applying for residence. Should we just but N/A under the resident number?

Thanks again!

Your are filing for both and hoping the K3 still exists. The I-130 alone results in an immigrant visa. You'll have some time to decide about the I-129F while you wait for the NOA1 on the I-130. Hopefully by then the resurection or funeral announcement will be public for the K3.

Now that they're using the lockbox, I no longer advise sending the petitions together.

hi , i filed for k-3 also, in your case write your name and anwser N/A for resident card# on all 4 pages of your g-325a form, your spouse need to do the same for all her 4 pages (her name and N/A).

as pushbrk said send the i-130 first and wait for the NOA then send i-129f.

take your time and make sure you file correctly, any mistake may cost you a lot of waiting time, i advise you to follow the instructions regarding filing a k-3 petition on the uscis website, although a lot of people talking about the canselation. don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions.

good luck

........................................

go to uscis web and use your receipt #.. what does it say on the application type? if it say's naturalization instead of i-130 immigrant visa, then its a problem, either way i suggest to call them and confirm the reason for your application.
