Thank you! Reading all of your posts and advices have been of so much help to get through all of this process and be prepared. I admire the dedication you have to this site and to help other people. I hope things at Guayaquil will start getting better and easier for future applicants, it's time to give us ecuadoreans a break!

Gracias and bless you, Dear. After 5+ years, I'm still planning to write an after-visa complaint about what went on there. They need to be given a chicharron, si man.

I doubt the fact that you're in a same sex relationship would at all hinder your case more than any other heterosexual relationship. And, really, all a lawyer does is charge you a lot of money to file paperwork you can do yourself, as long as you have no abnormalities (such as previous overstays, or a criminal past). Just read up on everything, prepare a LOT, make sure you have lots of evidence, and make sure the USC gets to the interview. You'll be fine.

Thanks! I will follow all the recommendations posted here

But chicharron is a good thing! Crispy pork skin, mmmmmm.

Maybe you meant chichón? That's a bump in the head. Bump.

"to give someone chicharron" is an ecuadorean expression that means "kill them", like a funny way to say it... I think it's hilarious you use that TBone hahaha and btw... You're right! Chicharron is delicious! is my fiancés favorite food from here, and one of the foods I think I'll miss the most once I move to the states

I'm told that it isn't THAT serious -- more like a whack upside the head. Back on topic, there have been some cracks in the armor at GYQ, but not yet enough to indicate a pattern of change. It's still playing with fire for the beneficiary to show up alone, and a happy miracle that V-Bonette succeeded, si man.

Hi guys, just wanted to let you all know that we had our K1 interview on august 27th in Gye consulate. Still to this day it is required for the US citizen to be there. For us, they didn't allow him to even go in the Consulate, he had to wait outside for about an hour until he was called in to be interviewed. However, they didn't even ask him anything. They said YOUR ONLY PRESENCE SOLVES OUR QUESTIONS. So yes, the petitioner has to be there, make sure to arrange travel plans to bet here with your loved ones.

09/25/2012: Sent I-129F
10/02/2012: NOA1
12/11/2012: Touched - alien registration number changed

05/14/2013: I-129F Approved

06/03/2013: Case forwarded to Consulate

08/27/2013: Interview - Approved!

09/05/2013: Visa in hands

11/01/2013: Moved to the US (POE Miami)

12/03/2013: We got married!! heart.gif

And probably illegal -- the consulates are U.S. soil, and the petitioner does not have to kowtow to some native guard.

In November 2013, a member scheduled a K-1 interview on-line and got this notice:

Consulate Address:

If your appointment is BEFORE December 13th please go to:
United States of America Consulate General
9 de Octubre and Garcia Moreno
Guayaquil, Ecuador

If your appointment is AFTER December 13th please go to our new building near the Judicial Police:
United States of America Consulate General
Santa Ana Street and José Rodríguez Bonín Avenue
San Eduardo Area
Guayaquil, Ecuador

I wonder if a new building will put the COs in any better humor or impart more circumspection, sigh man...

Hi to everybody.

I was wondering, how does the visa process continues here in Guayaquil, I got my NOA2 in march 5 (IR2 case), and one month later, an NVC case number, then my father scheduled an appointment (Last days of april) in a field office to inquire about the case, they told them that the letter with Package 4 is going to arrive to my domicile within 30 - 60 days, I know you can make the payments here in the consulate, but the page of the consulate hasn't updated the section of "Appointment letters sent" since february, what does this mean? Is there a way to inquire the status of the case, or if the case is already here?

Because I read a review from a person here, stating that he could schedule the interview as soon as he got his NVC case number.

PD: Also, before calling the NVC to get my number, I emailed them twice with the same question, about case number, the first answer was one month later, but the second answer, a week later, came with this line: "The US embassy or consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador, requires you to submit DS-261" and instructions to complete it, I already did it putting my home address, that means something?

Saludos.

Hi!

This topic is to give up-to-date information about the k1 process when arrives at Consulate in Guayaquil. I have tried to update information at http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Ecuador&cty=Guayaquil but for some reason don't let me. It will be great if someone can change all the old data there to not confuse users and provide the right information :) Also, doctors information is wrong and a few others things.

Always check its website to get the latest news: http://guayaquil.usconsulate.gov/index.html

Here, you will read about: general information of the Consulate, Instructions for k1 visa and medical examination.

* Contact US Consulate, Guayaquil, Ecuador

Location:

Calle Santa Ana y Av. Jose Rodriguez Bonin
Sector San Eduardo (diagonal from the Policia Judicial)
Guayaquil

Phone number:

From abroad: 593-4-371-7000
From other Ecuadorian Provinces: (04) 371-7000
From Guayaquil and other cities within the Province of Guayas: 371-7000

more: http://guayaquil.usconsulate.gov/contact.html

note that consulate is not anymore in the center of the city and they changed their Consulate Switchboard posted in this website.

* K1 Visa process in Guayaquil, Ecuador after USCIS and NVC.

After NVC finish processing your file they will send it to the Consulate, you will see ''IN TRANSIT'' Status at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== and when the file arrives at the consulate it will say ''READY''.

Consulate should email you a letter with instructions on how to download the Appointment Package, same day or a few days later (if not, email them at nivguayaquil@state.gov asking with your case number and information).

You don't have to wait until they send the email to check Package 4 K1, you can find it here: http://guayaquil.usconsulate.gov/fiancees_visas.html where you will find a link to a PDF document. CHECK THAT LINK TO GET THE LATEST INFO.

Here is the PDF document (It is in spanish) found there since February until this month http://photos.state.gov/libraries/guayaquil/231771/PDFs/pk4%20visas%20k%20span%20jul%202014.pdf.

SINCE NOW I WILL WRITE IN SPANISH, I WAS DOING IT IN ENGLISH BUT I THINK IT IS GONNA BE BETTER FOR THE BENEFICIARY.

* CITA MÉDICA $ 140 adultos y $70 ninos

Hope Ecuadorians find this post helpful!
