Hi found this in the National Visa site today while I was browsing around.....thought I would post it.

New Vaccination Requirements for IV Applicants

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS CONCERNING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

Recent changes to United States immigration law now require immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations (listed below) prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are now required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the new vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:

-- mumps

-- measles

-- rubella

-- polio

-- tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

-- pertussis

-- influenzae type b (Hib)

-- hepatitis B

-- varicella

-- pneumococcal and

-- influenza.

In order to assist the panel physican, and to avoid delays in the processing of an immigrant visa, all immigrant visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician''s review at the time of the immigrant medical examination. Visa applicants should consult with their regular health care provider to obtain a copy of their immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physican.

Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition.

K-1 is non-immigrant visa, you just need the vaccines done before AOS.

I told Ahmed to get the shots he needed when he got his medical. He got sick too for 3 days........probably from the tetanus, diphtheria vaccine. Then the Doctor in Alexandria gave him the vaccination card so he doesn't have to get another medical in the US when he applies for AOS. He just has

to send in the vaccination card...........I think it's called I-694A or something like that.

I wanted to save money..........vaccines and doctor visits are more expensive here.

Some of the above are vaccines you get when you are little. Remember that some immigrants are children and may need all the above. Most adults have already had measles, mumps, rubella and polio as children.

Most adults have had chicken pox too and won't need varicella.

PNeumo is only required if you are older than 65 years of age.

That is what the above means when it says the physician will determine if it is medically inappropriate.............for

your Ahmed and most adults, they will not have to get all those shots.

If you love me, then I have everything I need

There are many countries who require the vaccinations to be completed prior to issuing a visa. No vaccines.... no visa. Canada and the UK are some that come to mind immediately.

My Ahmed is going to the health office tomorrow with his vaccination card and geting anything else he needs for AOS. Jus to make sure cuz as you say it is so much cheaper there than here. Even though it says immigrant visa.....after we marry it is then considered an immigrant when you do AOS. SO we are checking it out just to be sure.
