Hi,

I filed a 1-129F Petiton for my fiance on Feb 28, 2008 and the paperwork came back because I failed to check the criminal history box (which I still am shock about because I poured over the paperwork again and again before sending it). Now, just to be clear, I wasn't trying to hide anything--my fiance and I don't have any criminial history--I don't even have a speeding ticket to my name. So i sent back the paperwork corrected.

The next touch was April 29, 2008 saying Vermont Service Center received the paperwork and that I should expect a written decision within 60 days. I understand that's well within the overall 6 month processing times allotted.

Well, 60 days has passed and when I called the Customer Service, they said they'd request for a status from the service center but center has at least 30 days to respond to that request for status.

I haven't heard anything back yet and I'm just curious as I've seen some of these quick TAT on the timelines, how much did I set my paperwork back when I needed to resend it with a revision? Does it just get tucked back beneath the pile or should I be worried that I have some serious issues with whatever the service center does on this initial approval round? I can't fathom what those issues might be but I'm becoming more and more dismayed with the whole process (and I know from reading this forum, I'm not the only frustrated person so I do have perspective). Nevetheless, it's just really tiring....

I did the same exact thing, got the RFE, responded (would have been sooner if I wasn't in the Philippines for 3 weeks when it was sent), the 60 days have passed and called the Service Center. All they told me is it hasn't been seen yet by the adjudicator who requested the RFE, and they couldn't give me any timeline about when it might get looked at again. I hope your outcome is different than mine so far. Good luck.

Hmmm. So how did you even get the information about your case not being reviewed by an adjudicator? I have called that national number a handful of times and gotten absolutely no information of value on my case. I'm actually wondering why they even have a phone number to call in the first place.

My biggest problem is that there is no transparency. Why not just keep an updated case progress for each file online? Tell me what steps are being taken and how far along I am--and I mean more detail than what we get right now.

Anyway, I'll just keep calling periodically and checking online each day but good luck to you as well........I am truly kicking myself for not ensuring that the paperwork got filled out correctly the first time around...That was a big mistake.

I got that information because I was fortunate enough to have a very nice lady answer my call and did more than the usual unpleasant people manning their phones. Also, she was at the VSC, not the customer service center, who can't tell you anything about your case that you don't already know.

Hello everyone...we applied feb 12, and my fiancee just had her interview with visa approved. She could have had the interview maybe 3, 4 weeks ago, but we took our time in filling out papers, and then she had to go out of town for work, but the process was not as long as we expected it to be. Good luck to all February filers!

Benny went to the medical exam today but they're not sending his stuff to Frankfurt. His blood pressure was 160/105 so the doctor says he has to see another doctor. He was nervous, running late, and had gotten lost. Would they seriously hold up a visa for high blood pressure????

They can hold back the medical results as they see fit, they did that to me which delayed the issuance of my visa, but I got it eventually and all is well now.

How long did it delay your visa?

I had to have a ct scan, so had to wait 3 weeks for that appointment then wait for the results, once they were clear the hospital wrote to the medical centre and they released my notes to the embassy a few days later, my visa was then issued within a day or so of the embassy recieving them.

The new doctor put him on medicine and gave him the 3 immunizations he didn't have (DTaP, MMR, & Varicella). At the medical exam they took blood but the new doctor did also. We're not sure why. They gave him an EKG and want to see him back after the interview. Maybe they're exhausting the tests they can do all on the free insurance program they have in Germany. It's all so much for Benny since he hasn't been to the doctor in so long.

Benny called from Frankfurt this morning. Odd that the caller ID said Utah call.

He'd brought a birthday card from my son for part of his proof of the relationship. However, because of the song device (Star Wars music) they wouldn't let him take it in. They said it was an electronic device. Funny they wouldn't let a birthday card through.

They made him take more photos (so he lost his place in line) because his ears weren't showing in the ones he brought with him. Benny said he saw nowhere that his ears had to show.

He forgot to bring the picture of us but the agent signed off on the visa anyway. We just have to wait for the medical to be done. It appears the doctor wants to use all that the free insurance allows, mostly because Benny hasn't been to the doctor in so long.
