August and September Filers - NOA2 to NVC

Hey guys am on the final stage of gathering all the documents to send to my fiance for her interview but am not sure if i should staple the forms like the DS-156 it has two pages and DS-156k one page and DS-230 part I and part II together four pages and the I-134 has two pages. So is it ok if I staple them or should i just use paper clips? your help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

Hey, what is up with that? Mine arrived on the 27th and they said it was shipped on the 29th. I checked dates from the 27th through the 29th and there is not a single package going to GUZ China.

My petition is on its way to Moscow as of this morning, woohoo!!!

The thing with the DHL trick is to use the day they said they sent it out in the reference. Since they said they shipped it out the 29th your reference is EXP 29 FEB 2008B. Now DHL doesn't actually pick it up until the next business day, which in your case is today. So it was technically shipped out today which is why you couldn't find it, and there is a shipment to China with that reference number shipped today. This is more accurate that saying "Hmmm maybe NVC meant to say the 28th instead. "

Hang in there. You know the petition isn't lost because they are touching it. And it sounds like you don't have an RFE yet either, so that's good too!

i just called and they said its with a "senior officer"

the gentleman said it was moved there feb.27

at least its moving ehhh...hopefully for the good n not for the bad..

OK heres a question. the K-1 visa is a, technically, non-immigrant visa and thus would require forms DS-156 & DS-156k. my fiancee picked up packet 3/4 or whatever you want to call it and it asked for form DS-230 and states that the we have to pay $400 for the visa. this all sounds like an immigrant visa and not a non-immigrant visa. i got in touch with the embassy earlier this week and they emailed me a copy of what they said they were going to give my fiancee, its titled packet 4 and says that forms DS-156 & DS-156k are required and the visa should cost $131. we are now very confused. i'm sending another email to the embassy to try and straighten it out but i wanted to see if anyone had any comments on this.

Called NVC again today and got my case number. They also told me that it shipped out last week, so I think I had the correct waybill number. The DHL tracking tips are brilliant.

Congrats Mox- how long does it take before you get your interview date and interview? Let's hear a guess. We all love to obcess over numbers and dates. My first guess after getting approved was an interview the beginning of April, but I don't think we'll hit my target date. Eric found some good info regarding USEM interview process. Now, we have to call in on the 14th of every month and schedule an interview. Sounds strange and I don't know how long it will last. Here's the kicker, in order to call the Philippines call center to schedule an interview, there is an $18 fee to use the service. Now I don't care much about the money because in reality it's not alot, but I wish they would allow us to schedule the interview as soon as they receive from NVC because now it will become a first come first ordeal when calling This is the new rules for the Manila embassy starting this month. I'm sure the fee will deter folks from just calling in to ask stupid questions and increase revenue. As a side note, my last ditch effort to get an early April interview date was made yesterday with a hardship request because of a possible deployment which occurs 5-6 times per year, but since it's only possible with no specific dates, plus I had no paperwork to back up my claims. We'll see what happens, either way, I am still very happy to be at this point of the process.
