I want to file for AOS and Employment authorization at the same time. I live in Michigan and have to file the documents to Chicago. Do i have to write a check of $1010 to the USCIS?

Since we now have to pay $1010.00, you should also file I-131 Advance Parole (Travel Document) just in case your wife need to travel back home for an emergency. There is no additional fee for this...

The instructions, I believe, say to make the check out to Dept. of Homeland Security, but I've seen people have no trouble w/ making the check out to USCIS....so its your choice.

I made my check out to "U.S. Department Of Homeland Security" (Change Of Status)
