Ralph Nader launched a website for the Ralph Nader Presidential Exploratory Committee this morning.

"Testing the waters," emails Nader spokesman Jason Kafoury.

The site's message sounds a lot like John Edwards, pitting "corporate control" against "people fighting back."

nader must be getting ready to write another book..or feel like he needs some attention

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

To kick off this exploratory season, we make you this modest offer – for a donation right now of $300 to our exploratory committee, we will send you:

* Henriette Mantel and Steve Skrovan’s new DVD Unreasonable Man. This is the classic documentary about Ralph’s work – from fighting GM to challenging the political duopoly.

* Michael Moore’s new DVD – Sicko. This is a brilliant documentary about the health care industry in America. Moore strongly supports a single payer, full Medicare for all system. Everybody in, nobody out. If the Democrats nominate a corporate candidate opposed to single payer – and right now all of the corporate Democrats are opposed to single payer – Michael will be in a tight spot. Michael, which side are you on?

* New York Times’ reporter David K. Johnston’s new book Free Lunch: How the Wealthiest Americans Enrich Themselves at Government Expense. The book’s title says it all. Consider it a primer on corporate welfare. Which of the corporate candidates will challenge the corporate welfare kings? We’re not holding our breath.

*MSNBC’s Bob Sullivan’s new book Gotcha Capitalism: How Hidden Fees Rip You Off Every Day and What you Can Do About It. Sick of $4 ATM fees? Seven dollar a gallon rental car gas? One day late on that electric bill? Gotcha. All your credit cards jump to a 29.99 interest rate. Your bank balance fell to $999.99 for one day. Gotcha. That will be $12. The massive overbilling by health care corporations. Which of the corporate candidates will fight the credit card companies, the rental car companies, the health care companies and the banks? Again, we’re not holding our breath.

* Former New York Times’ reporter Stephen Kinzer’s book All The Shah’s Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror – with a new preface – “The Folly of Attacking Iran.” With war cheerleader Bill Kristol now a columnist for the Times, time to turn back to Kinzer to counter the war hawks. It’s brilliant. And it shows that what goes around, comes around.

So, that’s two DVD’s – Sicko and Unreasonable Man – and three books destined to become classics – Free Lunch, Gotcha Capitalism, and All The Shah’s Men.

All for a donation of $300 ... to launch the exploratory season..

I believe he had endorsed Edwards. Now that Edwards is dropping out, it makes sense. Hillary and McCain, can't have two corporatist candidates on the ballot, now can we?

Let him join the party. Everyone says they don't like only having 2 choices. While they are at it a Bloomberg run would be nice also. The more the merrier.
