Hello,

I’m just wondering does someone actually comes to your house to see if you actually live there while you’re filing for your CR-1 petition. I’ve only heard of cases once you’re living together I guess someone might come to inspect. Anyone experience this?

Also, since it’s now 2008, should I send my W2 for 2007? I already have my tax transcript for the years of 2004-2006. I did this last year. My job doesn’t issue out our W2 until Jan 31st and I hope I don’t have to wait until then to send it off. Any advice would be appreciated.

You'll be fine sending the tax transcript you have and then having the 2007 tax return and W2 at the interview. I've never heard of anyone inspecting a home. I'm sure that the Dept. of Homeland Security has access to enough government data bases that they don't need to do that.

I too would only send up to or just 2006. When your SO attends his or her interview, assuming it will be after April, they will expect an updated I-864, including your 1040's and W2's or a tax transcript.

This happened in the US. My friend's cousin married a guy from Morrocco who was in the US but his visa expired. The marriage was a fraud becuase she was going to get paid. I don't know all the details but agents did go to her mother's house because that was the address they listed as living there. My friend's cousin has not been heard from in 3 months because she knows that immigrations is looking for her. I'm not sure what initiated that visit but it could possibly happen.

Ok thanks, I assume if they expect it is a fraud or under certain conditions they would. Well, I don't have a prob I just wanted to know if it was a part of the process.

Thanks ALL for your responses.
