I129F approval . On 2009-11-18 received confirmation of interview date by E Mail from the Embassy in Rio. The Interview was sched for 7:45am 2010-01-12. This E mail was a response to my e mail requesting the date of the interview. On several occassions the response from the Embassy was my petition has not been received and for me to contact the NVC for further information. I knew the petition had been there for 2 weeks thanks to DHL tracking info provided on the VJ site. Now it appears the wait for interview is approx 8 weeks from the 1st e mail notice from the Embassy instead of the 6 weeks average that was in the past few months. I have e mailed the embassy in Rio to request an earlier interview date or if possible to put on stand by in case of any cancellations. Not sure how this will be received. I have tried calling the embassy on several occassions only to get voice answering message that the box is full ,try back another time, no one is available. (Nov 19th)- Dear Sir or Madam: At this point our office has no earlier available dates. You can send us an e-mail explaining your reasons and urgency of the interview and we will forwarded to the officer to be analyzed. Regards, Dear Sir/Madam, I am requesting your consideration of an earlier interview date than January 12th for us regarding the visa interview as I (Tim Boyd) currently am single parent of 14 year old child,Julia Ann Boyd. I traveled to Brazil in July for a second time during her summer break to visit Francisca(beneficiary) and took Julia along to meet her as well as Franciscas family. We stayed approx 3-4 weeks. My daughter is Brazilian as well as American, speaks the language fluently.Once there my daughter requested to attend the first semester of school in Macae ,similar to exchange student. I contacted the principal of her school in the United States and she thought it to be an excellant idea as well as cultural experience for Julia. Julia fit in perfectly with the family there as well as the school. The school is Catholic school called The Castle in Macae. I had estimated the interview to be on or about the middle of December at the time Julia enrolled there in school. The principal in Las Vegas at her school and I had discussed the return date for Julia approx during the holiday break so she could prepare to begin the second semester here . To summarize,I would request, if possible, any earlier date you may be able to provide around December 18th or anytime earlier. The Embassy rescheduled the date of interview for Dec 11th at 7-30 am . Did not allow me or any other fiances in the room . All before our interview were approved. Have all docs in order and there is no problem. Be advised , the divorce document of Brazil, contrary to what the Brazillian Gov or cartoria says ,does not suffice for the Birth certificate. the Cartoria holds the birth certificate(original) and you must go there and pay for a certified copy to present to the consulate before the visa is issued. This happened to us and caused a several day delay in obtaining the visa. BE CERTAIN TO HAVE A CERTIFIED STAMPED COPY OF THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE to submit or no visa. 2010-01-14
