Traveling within US with K1 Visa

Once my fiance arrives here, are we able to travel within the United States before we were married?  If so what would he use for ID since I don't think his driver's license or passport from Mexico would work?

Foreigners are allowed to travel domestically in the US. I suggest using his passport. I have used my Canadian passport during our AoS process perfectly fine. I used my driver's licence ONCE and the guy almost didn't let me through because he didn't realize Canadians can use our licences to travel domestically in the US. Luckily his coworker corrected him and let me through. But I decided to always use my passport from now on. If you are extra paranoid, bring your NOA's and a copy of marriage cert. It's unlikely you will be asked for them though.

 

EDIT: Sorry I forgot you said you guys aren't married yet so you don't have a marriage cert. Bring your NOA's if you want but you guys should be fine. I know the political climate makes it a little nerve wracking but he entered with a K1 so there's NO legal or good reason he'll be singled out.

The passport is probably the one thing one can count on in terms of identification, in any country I think.

Things like licenses I think usually aren't recognized in other countries (barring exceptions). But a passport is the one thing that at least someone in every country will know what to do with, they had to recognize it in order to let you in. When my fiance traveled to the US in the past, and when I traveled to other countries, I would always try to have my passport with me for identification because that was the only thing that I could actually present to anyone (police, a bar, some government office, wherever), that someone would actually be able to recognize.
