It wouldn't be available on the calendar if it were a "closed" day.

You may call the embassy to check if they are open on September 1.
But I am certain that the US embassy will make an announcement on what will happen to the applicants scheduled for an interview on Sept1 in case it is a holiday.

Embassy holiday calendar shows they are open, no need to call

Embassy is open. USEM calendar shoes its open because it doesn't show its closed. Why call and tie up the phone lines?

Hello. Another good news, I just got home from my interview at the US embassy and I got approved. Thank you all for your support. I didn't expect the entire process to be such an ordeal with the delay and all. Talking to you guys really helped me.

How did you know you were approved? Did you asked? Will they tell you automatically? What did they asked you?

On the spot the CO congratulated me and told me I'm approved. 

 

The questions I got asked were just the expected ones. When, how, where my fiance and I met. What he does for a living, where he works. The CO didn't even ask to see his i134. And she just glanced at our photos for a second.
