If you're talking about DV (your profile says K1 but this is the DV forum) you get the notification about 6-7 weeks before the interview.

Yes I'm trying to gather infos for someone who got the DV. I was wondering if there was a timeframe from the publication of the bulletin and the moment you get notified for your interview.

Not an exact timeframe - notifications are usually 1-2 weeks after the bulletin gets published, but there have been a couple of months this FY that they've gone out later than usual. The letter will be on the same website your friend used to check whether s/he was selected. There should be an email notifying them that the website has been updated, but the email itself won't contain any information.

Has anyone else heard that the 50,000 cap has been met for ALL regions and that no other green cards will be available as of July 17, 2015?
