How long does it take to review an I-129F form

In my personal opinion what I think is that a form I-129F only takes 15 minutes to be reviewed; I know they have to check for background information and all of that, and one week is enough to process all of that. TSC is really reviewing our cases?

I know they also have all types of applications; but about I-129F forms we send most of the evidence needed for them... Are they really working or just relaxing themselves and only take a few applications a day to move just a few cases a month? where is the money of the fees we're paying going????

It probably takes a few minutes to review the form, as you indicate.

The problem is not the time it takes, but the backlog of applications coupled with an insufficient number of staff to review them.

What that means is, they get thousands of applications.

We on vj probably only count for 5% of those.

And TSC seems to be incredibly understaffed and back logged so it takes a lot longer to get through them.

I've seen many times that it takes 15-30 minutes to approve or deny or see if there extra information required. Let's say they do an average 8 hour day with an hour lunch and two 15 minute breaks.thats only really 12-15 petitions each a day.

And that's not including all the additional work it takes before they even open the petition and other criteria we don't even know about, so I'm going to say about 10 petitions per person per day.

At the end of the day TSC need more staff and to do a transfer to csc to even the work load.

As an additional note, (if this helps at all), the Dallas metroplex had icy weather the last week of February into the first week of March. Now, as a previous federal employee, I can only assume that the USCIS uses the same telework policy as the majority of other federal agencies do.

When the weather is going to be bad and the building is shut down because of such, then employees that were going to come to work get administrative leave. If, however, the employee was planning to work from home, then they are still expected to work. So, of course, this opens up to the natural inclination of an employee who would have normally worked from home, deciding not to work from home that particular day or week.

If the agency was closed for four to six days during that two week period, it could have put all the K-1 visas behind other "more important visas", but that is just a theory of mine. That does not explain the other 210+ days that TSC filers have been waiting on!

My coworker suggested that perhaps the conservative tendencies in TX are holding up the petitions and the liberal tendencies in CA make them move faster. She may be right...
