Hello Everyone,

I'm a March 2014 TSC filer, and have been visiting this forum for some time now. I deeply sympthatize with everyone here who feels the pain of unfair delays at TSC vs. CSC, and those who who miss their loved ones, as I do miss my fiance very much, and would like to say that a powerful idea we can all participate in NOW (besides contacting congressman/senator after 5 months are up) is to intelligently and respectfully contact media outlets, in particular, I am thinking to reach out to specific reporters who specialize in immigration reporting, this is a hot time for this subject, and thus, more likely to catch their attention... especially when coming from more than one person.

I recommend we all start by contacting Julia Preston, of NY Times. She is the woman who brought attention to the immigration backlogs in Feb 2014, which seems to have gotten things moving. (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/09/us/program-benefiting-some-immigrants-extends-visa-wait-for-others.html?hp&_r=1)

"Julia Preston was a member of The New York Times team that won the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for reporting on international affairs for its series that profiled the corrosive effects of drug corruption in Mexico. Ms. Preston became a national correspondent covering immigration for The Times in April 2006."

I have not emailed her yet, but am gathering some wisdom to write her soon. What do you guys think of this idea, to all write from our hearts and use facts to help bring this issue to Ms. Preston's attention? Open to hear your ideas and suggestions.

She can be contacted directly by click on "Send an E-Mail to Julia Preston" at the end of her profile on this page: http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/p/julia_preston/index.html?action=click&contentCollection=U.S.&module=Byline&region=Header&pgtype=article

I think it's an excellent idea. I'm all for doing so. April filer here who doesn't want to wait a full year to see my love. Just because we aren't married yet doesn't make our separation any less heartbreaking...

I am the petitioner.

The email for me is not necessary, but if you wanted the journalists email, click on the 2nd link in my original post, and scroll down to bottom of article. It is a web form, so I cannot provide the specific email, it gets mailed directly to her from the NY Times website.

Lol! Sorry, I didn't mean your e-mail, I meant the e-mail you are going to send her? Could you possibly post it on here as well? So others will have something to make into their own and maybe add a few details they would like :)

Hello, I am waiting at TSC also and I have sent mail to CNN. I did not get a responce back from them. I will try to contact Ms. Preston. Another thing you can do is for you and family and friends to get write your US Congressperson. Do not list an individual request for aid just let your US Rep. know that TSC is well mired in their mismanagenment and that something needs to be done pronto. There is a Cal. post today --only 23 days NOA1-NOA2.

Better to contact conservative media. The crisis at the border is sucking up all the oxygen and no media will want to cover this story, but conservative media might because we are all American citizens getting shafted, having to go through background checks even on ourselves and prove ability to financially support a spouse, while foreigners, some of whom are known to be gang members are walking over and being flown to their new homes, where they will go to school for free, collect welfare, etc. No background check, no need to prove financial support. It's insane.

All of the service centers could use a kick in the pants, so to speak (JMHO), as it is not only K1 visas but also CR1/IR1s that are also being affected. NSC is now transferring petitions out to other service centers because they are backlogged. I was very new on here when that happened last time, and I recall that it turned into a fiasco and negatively affected countless people.

It is my opinion that those in charge need to take a very deep, close look at the system as a whole, because it is broken right now, and throwing a bandaid on it temporarily won't fix it. The problems, and the breaches caused by them, will only hurt the whole system in the long run.

Again, just my humble opinion. And I will gladly pass it on to Ms. Preston.

Nice, I'll be sending her one this week as well. Whom exactly did you email at CNN? Can share the email please? If anyone wants to make a list of all the journalists (preferrably ones specializing in immigration matters), it would be useful to just have it here for all to be able to easily email all these outlets. Someone somewhere has to notice.

I totally agree, all the "veterans of waiting" here, and especially new filers who want to help themselves and future loved ones be united fairly and quickly, please join us in this! The following links I would recommend posting in your letters to congressmen, congresswomen, senators and journalists/reporters/media outlets:

Texas Service Center is overloaded with applications, and is processing less and less of them each month, currently they have 9,629 pending applications as of April 2014, with only 971 being completed (please see 2nd chart on this page):

TEXAS SERVICE CENTER TREND (9,629 pending, 971 completed):

http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=6&office=5&charttype=1

Also, please see the 2nd chart on this page, showing how low California processing load and how high the completion rate is:

CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER TREND (2,897 pending, 2,732 completed):

Please also take a look at the VisaJourney.com Trends Chart showing apx. how long it ‘s taking to approve I-129F applications for TX (apx. 200 days) and CA (<50 days) Service Centers:
