K-1 rejected, for a stupid reason!

Nothing too serious I'm glad to say, but we got rejected because she wrote $170 in numbers on the check, then wrote out 'seventy five' for no reason other than some kind of brain blip, and never picked it up before mailing in the application.

I noticed they sorted the application and went through the rest so from that fact can I assume the rest of the app was fine and it was just the payment that went wrong?

At the moment, all that's wrong is the payment. At this point, they are assembling your package, making certain the components are there. It is not being adjucated yet, so you could receive additional RFEs once an Officer evaluates your case, if he/she determines more information is needed.

Write another check - correctly this time!

One more thing. For your safety and health, the woman is always right. She never makes mistakes! Learn that now and your relationship will flourish. That's what my Fiancee told me!

My personal opinion is that writing checks is better. However, you just caused yourself a short delay with the misque, and time is what you do NOT want to waste. Believe me, USCIS will waste enough time on your behalf. Cheers!!! - Sheriff Uling

Actually, your K-1 was not rejected, your I-129F application was not accepted due to insufficient funds.

That's not a K-1 denial; that's a I-129F being returned due to mental farts. No worries -- just send it off again.

I have come to the conclusion that no matter how many times you check it there will always be something wrong heh (we made some stupid mistake too after checking it about 100 times )

Not recommended--a personal cheque is at least trackable (and with online banking, you can find the receipt number and further track the app); problem with money orders is that you have to pay IN ADVANCE and then you cannot easily tell when USCIS cashes it.

Actually, it WAS rejected. When they return it because of some basic problem with payment or signatures or something, it's rejected. It says it on the cover leter. Rejected.

You have a chance to double check what was sent, and have the check written properly. Not a huge problem, good luck on your journey!

I must've gotten a really nice adjucator or something-- I was certain this would happen to me (Accidentally wrote the wrong MONTH so it was postdated 2 months), but someone there actually took a stamp and stamped a 8 over the 10 I wrote on my check-- I only found this out after the NOA1 came in the mail unexpectedly, and I hopped online a day or two later to check out the cancelled check and found the stamped '8'.

It's nice knowing I'm not the only one who somehow made this silly of a mistake, though!! Good luck on the rest of your journey!

It's not a K-1 rejection though, exactly. It's a I-129F rejection, and they're not the same thing (K-1's the whole process).
