Hello All, Is there anyone from Kansas city who has passed their N400 interview and waiting to be scheduled for their oath ceremonies? I am trying to plan out some international travel for early next year and would like to get some sense of how long it takes. Wouldn't want to reschedule the oath ceremony if its already taking a while to be put on the schedule.

I am in a strange predicament. We filed for my husband's removal of conditions in June 2020. Then last year in Nov 2022, we also filed the N-400. On October 11, we received the notice for an interview for both which is scheduled for Nov 15,2023. We have a trip planned to Mexico and Mexico doesn't accept the I-797 as a valid proof of residency. We were trying to get a Mexican Visitor Visa using my husband's Indian passport and all the supporting forms but the passport becomes invalid after the interview (if we take the oath the same day as it is an option). If we take the oath, we would have to apply for a US passport which definitely would not get here on time for our travel. If we delay the oath, do we get the 10 year green card pretty soon before our trip (scheduled for Dec 16,2023)? What else can we do? We really don't know what to do at this point and we really don't want to miss the trip to Mexico. Any suggestions would be appreciated please!!

Hey folks! Just got approved today! So excited so I'm just waiting for the Notice to come in the mail and let me know where my Oath Ceremony will be and when. Had a quick question. I know the dress code recommended is "dress befitting of the Oath". With ceremonies (especially good ones like Marriages/Ceremonies etc) I usually wear my family kilt and dress shirt (obviously I will not bring decorative knives). But I was wondering if they would let me do that for the Oath ceremony or if they just want me to wear a suit. I saw in some Oath ceremony videos that folks from Ghana and Nigeria would wear their traditional clothing to their ceremonies but I have no idea what the expectations are (other than no flip flops and t-shirts etc). Any guidance on this?

Hi all, Our judicial oath ceremonies are finally happening this Friday. Preparing for it and noticed several potential issues: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/chapter5.pdf says only the green card needs to be returned, but https://askellis.com/oath-ceremony-naturalization/ (not official, but reading it since it discusses what happens on the day) say return other USCIS issued documents like EAD and AP as well. Presumably only the green card is needed? Our concern is somewhere between USCIS and USPS my wife's EAD card was lost. We didn't really file any official report back then since our green card interview was scheduled not long after anyway. And how strictly is the dress code enforced? Esp the no jeans part """ The naturalization ceremony is a solemn and meaningful event. Please dress in proper attire to respect the dignity of this event (please no jeans, shorts, or flip flops). """ Thanks!
