Give them 4 weeks, and then start calling them twice a week until you get the result. Usually as per NVC, supervisor review time limit is 6 weeks.

Officially there's only one supervisor review, but if it takes longer than 6 weeks and you call and inquire, they usually answer like let me flag your case once more for supervisor review or they are still reviewing it. This, however wouldn't add 6 more weeks.

Make sure you speak to them calmly and not yell at them, no matter how frustrated you are. I know it is easier said than done, but yelling at them will get you no where.

Good luck. Wish you get your response CC soon .

My scan date is 12/29 and went on supervisor review 02/10 (almost identical to you). I too have not received case complete. I've called them and they just keep telling me it's in the review department. It looks like NVC is processing many early December cases, so I believe we're very much so close to having CC.

@Tanish, they are now telling people 8 weeks, not 6 weeks for review times, even under supervisor review. Although I do not believe it will take that long once the case is flagged. The reps are now saying it can take 'up to' 8 weeks from the date it the supervisor review was requested.

Oh, okay. I was under the impression that 8 weeks was only updated for before review. Thanks for the update.

I appreciate that.

Yeah the customer service reps began stating this last week. I was thinking the same that once you get on supervisor review that it would still be within the 6 weeks review time, but it's not, it applies to new cases, and those in supervisor review. Although those in supervisor review usually take less than 8,6,4 weeks because they should have been reviewed already.

Here's the is where they show the new review times on the NVC website.

Does anyone know what causes them to put you into supervisor review? Is it done when something is missing?  Or when the evidence for AOS isn't enough?   Or if  you're from certain countries?  I'm wondering whether many cases just go straight through as there seem to be a lot on supervisor review?

Got married: 26th Sep 2013

I-130 Petition Process:

Sent petition to USCIS Chicago lockbox (via in-laws to put check in US$): 11 Mar, 2016

NOA1: 24 Mar, 2016 (email notification 30 Mar. Hardcopy 11 Apr)

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Paid AOS Fee: 9th Sep 2016

Paid IV Fee: 14th Sep 2016

DS-260 submitted: 25th Jan 2017

AOS & IV Package sent: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite requested: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Medical date: 26th April 2017

Interview date: 4th May 2017 APPROVED!!

Visa received: 8th May 2017

POE (entered the USA): 15th May 2017

All of your conclusions are based on a simple assumption that they are applying/following some particular method. However, reality is when they miss the 8 weeks processing deadline and have not looked at your case, and you call with inquiry about status, they will flag your case for Review. Right now they are either overworked or something else has slowed the processing down.

You will not receive an email or a letter as it's 'unofficial' to a certain degree. Supervisor Review is to be requested once your case has gone past the normal review times... now that's 8 weeks. If you have past 8 weeks from your scan date and have not received anything about your case, ie checklist or case complete, then you have to call NVC and they will automatically put you on 'supervisor review request'. Technically your file is most likely still in the mail-room; they send a request for your file to the mail room to be sent to the review department, because it went past their normal review timing... that's why the reps say that once you get put on supervisor review, it can 'take up to' 8 weeks to review your case, because they were not actually reviewing it in the first place - it was in the mail-room.

This is what was explained to me by an NVC employee. Usually from what I have seen, that it does not necessarily mean it will take a full 6 or even 8 weeks after you are put on supervisor review; most cases are complete within 3-4 weeks after supervisor review request. At the end of this week I will be on supervisor review for 3 weeks (total 9 weeks from scan date).
