2/18/2016- Letter from NVC saying they're forwarding to Guangzhou

3/4/2016- Received P3, returned it about a week later

3/22/2016- P4 email

5/12/16- Interview. Approved!

5/16/16- After a few days saying administrative processing, CEAC now says issued!

Additional snafu: my fiancé came over on his visa, but just a month later (and the day before we were going to get married) he had an emergency that necessitated him returning to China.  I contacted the Guangzhou consulate via their email system, provided the requested documents/proof, and he was granted a second interview for "reissuance."  He had to re-do the medical, redo the interview (bringing yet another copy of all of the things he had to bring the first time) and we were approved again!  He received what looked like a new visa in his passport, but the original 90 day countdown for marriage was still ticking.  He came back to the US and we got married right away!

8/22/16- Married!

10/6/16- NOA 1 for AOS, EA, and AP (USCIS case status website says case was received on October 4th)

11/9/16- Bio appointment

12/13/16- EA and AP approved!

4/11/17- submitted online service request for case out of normal processing time (over 6 months)

5/2/17- USCIS website updated to "My card is being produced!"

5/10/17- Green Card received

When it was my wife's time to interview, I don't know who was more nervous; her or me. I know I didn't sleep well the night before and when I did sleep, I was dreaming that we were practicing questions that may be asked. :lol:

Right before she goes in, just tell her that she's got this and she will be fine; however, the waiting you will have to do before she comes out will be grueling.

09/25/15 - She came to the US on holidays, decided to spend a weekend to meet me in Texas.
10/02/15 - I must have done something right, since she came back the next weekend too! :whistle:
10/05/15 - Sadly, she had to return to China for work. We keep talking.
11/12/15 - I leave to visit her in Shanghai. A very beautiful city, if I do say so myself.

11/16/15 - My turn to leave for work. :(

12/10/15 - I-129F sent to USCIS lockbox.

12/16/15 - NOA1 email received.

12/21/15 - NOA1 hardcopy received.

01/21/16 - NOA2 email & text received. 36 days processing time!

I have my consulate review up now. The weather was really good, 80-85 each day, humidity wasn't too bad, and the only real rainfall we had was overnight, we had plenty of time to walk around the city and visit the sights (we even went to the top of Canton Tower). The air wasn't too bad most of the time, but obviously with China beggars can't be choosers when it comes to clear skies.

When it was my wife's time to interview, I don't know who was more nervous; her or me. I know I didn't sleep well the night before and when I did sleep, I was dreaming that we were practicing questions that may be asked. :lol:

Right before she goes in, just tell her that she's got this and she will be fine; however, the waiting you will have to do before she comes out will be grueling.

About a month ago we looked at a list of questions that have been asked to others in the past, and I asked her if there were any she was not too sure of the answer to, and she was confident she could answer any question asked of her based on previously asked questions. No prep needed, just our life together gave her the answers. They then asked her what her plans were if she was granted the Visa, this question gave her a little issue. She first answered go to the US. So they said yes of course, but what are your plans when you arrive. So she said get a dog, get a cat, relax at home ... you know start a family. The interviewer smiled, this was the last question and she was approved.

The paperwork was done VERY fast The interview was April 5th, we immediately went into AP which is standard, and on April 8th our status was updated to Issued.

Thank you to all who congratulated us, I know most people say it was a long and tough journey, but honestly from our perspective it was very fast and easy. 12-03-2015 to 04-05-2016 filed and approved. No major hurdles were presented, the best advice I can give to you is to Study as much as you can and prepare well. If I didn't ask questions at the beginning I think we would have run into some issues, but I asked a lot of questions, and read all of the fine print. So the process was fast and easy for us.

good luck! I have a question...was you Packet 3 emailed or mailed? and what's exactly in the packet, i got very confused with Packet 4. I'm currently waiting for NVC#. thanks a lot for your answer!
