So here is my review of the Guangzhou K-1 process from the perspective of the Petitioner.

We arrived at the consulate around 8am for the 8:40 appointment. The NIV lime was immensely long and nothing was clearly marked, but after a short talk with the guard She was directed to the IV line which had only 4 people. After 10 minutes outside she entered the building.

Her recount of the inside was average. She said the CO that interviewed her was very very pleasant and nice, smiled often, and she enjoyed the interview. However she said the Chinese guards and paper takers that were in the building were very very serious, and at some times rude.

During the interview they asked her only a few questions.

1. How many times has he come to visit (she opened my passport to count the entry/exit stamps). They smiled and said that was enough.
2. They asked her how long we had been together
3. They asked her what were her plans if she was granted the K-1 Visa
No other questions were asked.

I provided her with 100 pages of phone records showing that the relationship continued after initial filing. I also provided her with 4 years of Tax Transcripts with the I-134. They took the most recent 3 and told her to keep the one from 2012 as they don't need it.

At this point they told her she was approved, and she was on her way.

It was very fast and painless.

I can say that you need to make sure you have everything exactly as they want it to be. Another group was there the same time we were, and his Fiance was sent out to retake new passport photos down the street.
