Thread is moved from the US Citizenship main forum to the Case Progress subforum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Since the post above notes that they don't allow, try another service center that you can travel to. I did a late fingerprinting instead of rescheduling but at the different location than the one I was supposed to appear. Good Luck!

They wouldn't let my husband do it.

Thanks anyways, but my appointment is on Monday anyway. So guess I'll be going for my scheduled appointment

I did my biometrics this morning at Boston ASC, not a early walk in. My appointment was for 8 am, I showed up 8:05am and already 30-40 people were waiting at the check in line ahead of me. I am not sure if they give 8:00 am time slot to this many people or they were letting early walk-ins but by the time I was out of the ASC building it was around 9:30 am. Not a pleasant experience. I guess each day is a different story, when I did my fingerprints last June again at Boston ASC (on-time appointment, not an early walk in), maybe there was 2-3 people other than me, get-in get-out was no more than 10 minutes. Days like those they probably wouldn't object to early walk-ins, but days like today it would be unfair to let early walk ins unless people have a valid reason.

You can expect there to be a long line first thing in the morning and later in the day just before work hours end, because that's when most people have the free time.

I did early walk-in in Boston (about a week earlier than my appointment). Went in the early afternoon (probably around 2:30-3 pm, I think). I explained that I was on paternity leave which would be over when my appointment was and so being able to do it early allowed me to not have to take time off work. the guard gave me a little bit of a hard time, asked me to never do it again, but ultimately let me go in and do it. it seemed very slow/quiet then (there were maybe two or three other people waiting). this was on january 26, 2016.

That's good they let you, lamasoft. My husband tried explaining he couldn't get off work on the day of the appointment, but they didn't care. They told him to go home because they were too busy. He ended up having to take an entire sick day because he couldn't get a few hours off.

Unfortunately that's the way it is. Just as you can't be very selective in your doctor's appointments, USCIS doesn't care if the applicant is unemployed or works 80 hours a week. We could ask for rescheduling but they don't let us choose what day or time would work. At least it is all for a good cause. One more sick/vacation day for the interview, and another for the oath ceremony.

Hi all

I did a biometrics walk in at the Boston MA location.

I was asked why I came a week early and told the agent and he had empathy and let me in.

It went well. Everyone I met were friendly and out in 30 mins.

It was not busy at all which helped my cause.

I think they give the same appointment time to many people. It doesn't mean you (and only you) will be seen then, but it means you won't be seen before and if everyone sticks to their time, it manages the flow of people!

I did my AOS biometrics at Boston but for my N400 I ended up going to the new office in Revere!  I did post a sort of "review" of it in my May 2017 thread.

if you don't fancy going to the Boston office you could probably go to Revere instead?
