According to this post here - he/she is now able to obtain his police clearance ONLINE from UAE and he/she has a picture of it:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/615548-police-reports/?p=8379619

I was in fact able to locate this: GOOD CONDUCT LINK

The official reciprocity page for obtaining records from the UAE has NOT changed - still says recommended to ignore: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html

Has ANYONE who worked in the UAE for 1 year or longer and RECENTLY went thru the interview in Manila been asked for UAE police clearance or did they let you go without it?

PLEASE ADVISE.

UAE is a waiver country per the Dept of State website. https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html

Until DOS changes you are still not required to obtain the police certificate.

My wife worked in UAE for over a year and just got her case complete at NVC a couple weeks ago without a UAE police clearance. As soon as my step son gets his case complete she will probably have an interview scheduled so if anyone is aware of any changes to the waiver please keep us updated.

The PC is only required, if at all based on the DS website, at the time at the interview only. NVC doesn't require it when filing your initial 129 or 130.

The foreign police certificate requirement is from USEM.

I just hope they don't decide to change their policy right before my wife's interview then we have to scramble to get it in time. Maybe we should just get it anyways in case they decide to throw us a curve ball.

It appears they need "certified fingerprints" sent to them to obtain the certificate. What a headache.

The way it reads the fingerprints must be on record at a police station or the DCI... doesn't seem to offer an option for sending them.

Service Requirements

1. Applicant's Fingerprints in one of the Police Stations or Department of Criminal Investigation

Not trying to fearmonger as Im in the middle of this waiting for NOA2....

Just trying to get as much headsup as possible:

So - it seems that we (in the U.S.) may be facing a change coming soon - maybe not now - but soon. I REALLY HOPE NOT anytime soon because it will be a ******* trying to get this. With my luck we will get NOA2 and her interview scheduled and then 2 days prior they change the policy.

Canada requires the UAE Police Clearance for migration to Canada and they are clear about how to go about getting it:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/mid-east/united-arab-emirates.asp

How do I get a Police Certificate:
If you live outside of the United Arab Emirates: (but have lived in the UAE for more than 6 months)
You may either apply:
In person if you are back in the UAE OR ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in the UAE, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the police department in your emirate (see Special notes and considerations for complete list)
You can apply at the nearest UAE Embassy
By express mail
You or your representative must bring/send:
A set of fingerprints certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in the country where you currently live
A copy of your valid passport
A copy of your former Emirates ID card
A copy of your former residence visa
Two (4x6 cm) photographs
Applicable fees
If you live in Canada: Please visit the UAE Embassy’s website for more detailed instructions
If you live in the Philippines: Please visit the UAE Embassy in Manila’s website for more detailed instructions
Information and documents you need:
Special notes and considerations
Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?
Yes. If you are Invited to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence, you need to upload a police certificate in your Electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR). Please follow the instructions above to get your police certificate.
NOTE: CIC will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.
You only need to give one (1) police clearance from any emirate in the UAE

I hope my wife has her interview before they get rid of the waiver. This looks like a lot of hoops to jump through and very time consuming. I am thinking about having my wife get the certificate now so if they do change the policy right before her interview we don't have any delays. I am not sure how to go about handling the whole fingerprint thing. I went to the UAE police website and clicked the link for getting a police certificate and it is a dead link. I hope the US government understands how much of an inconvenience this would be and doesn't change their policy.
