RFEs for filipinocupid.com

Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of working on my K1 visa petition/application and will be submitting it in about 2 weeks.

I met my fiancee on filipinocupid.com back in 2012 and was reading the posts in the RFE Master List thread in the K1 forum and I see some members are getting RFEs needing to prove that filipinocupid.com is not an international marriage broker. Shouldn't the USCIS know by now that it is just a dating site and not an international marriage broker? Do I need to do anything with my petition before sending it in so that I too won't get an RFE for this?

Thanks in advance!

Write a letter explaining the site (yes they probably know already), and print out their terms of use, highlighting the part that I quote here....

". The Service

The Service is an internet information service that facilitates contact between members who may or may not be seeking friendship or a relationship. It is not a marriage brokering service, mail order bride service or a matchmaking service. The Company is under no obligation to broker any other member or members for you."

USCIS for the petition only needs proof of having met IN PERSON WITHIN THE PAST 2 YEARS. Why even mention filipinocupid? It isn't pertinent as evidence of having met in person.

Hank,

Point taken. Maybe I will take out the part that we met online back in 2012 in my I-129F Supplement: Part 2, Question 34.a, explanation of meeting in person statement.

Do not mention FilipinoCupid, FilipinaHeart, Date In Asia, etc when filing the K1. It can lead to a RFE.

They are great website (Excluding Date In Asia) to meet chicks in the Philippines..........

If it is an international marriage broker, you need it for IMBRA compliance, but they are not. They are just a dating site.

If you don't mention it and it is disoovered later, it could open a can of worms.

I met my wife at FC and did disclose that fact in my filing. I also enclosed an email I got from FC webmaster explaining how they are not an international marriage broker. It worked fine and nobody questioned it.

Filipino Cupid is NOT IMB.

I went through Chinese version of that site (same company).

Don't overfeed them with information.

You can simply state that you met online.

The most important part is that you explain that you met in person

Hey DIA is bad? hahaha I met my Filipina wife there and we have been married since Sept 2012, very happily residing in Hawaii together. Buying a house tomorrow. DIA was THE website for me. I met the girl of my dreams there. I am sure there are scammers on all of the websites. Just playing with you anyway. But we are very happy. Had it not been for DIA I would have never met my now-wife.

God Bless

I consider myself a International Playboy

I have meet about 300 girls from Philippines on these websites over the years and have been engaged to about 7 girls and had about 40 serious gf from Philippines.

For me I enjoy the chase and the love tango dance of romance.

I have skyped literally hundreds of girls from Philippines, and I have enjoyed it, It just seems that DIA has an abundance scammers.

But in my opinion dating websites is a great way to meet girls, you just have to be careful and diligent......

Got it! Thanks again everyone! I won't mention filipinocupid.com in my k1 petition.

I think you should mention it in passing, since you are required to provide a statement on how the two of you met. Just don't make it the centerpiece of how you met.

I met my fiance on the internet, not a dating site but still the internet. But everyone else in the world thinks we met in the SM mall. Which is a truth too because that's where we first met. I personally don't think the internet counts as meeting someone, on our side the person could be a lady boy, on the filipina side the guy might be some super fat slob. My wife totally agrees with the SM mall story and the rest is history.
