CFO - Cebu Step by step process

CFO Cebu Address: Causing-Lozada Building, Osmeña Boulevard corner MJ Cuenco Street, Cebu City, Philippines

For fiance Visa applicants:

Step 1: Get inside the building before 7:00AM just to make sure that you will be part of the 12 slots.

Step 2: Prepare documents such Originals and photocopy of:

* passport

* birth certificate

* 2 valid IDs

* CENOMAR

Step 3: The assigned staff will then let you write your name on the log book and will hand you a priority number and you will be asked to come back by 8:00AM

Step 4: At 8:00AM your priority number will be called and will be asked to present these again:

documents such Originals and photocopy of:

* passport

* birth certificate

* 2 valid IDs

* CENOMAR

Step 5: You will be given a form to fill out and will be asked to return it to them when done filling it out.

Step 6; You will be called after for picture taking and will be told to come back at 1:00PM

Step 7: At 1:00 PM You will be called randomly for verifications of the documents you have provided them

Step 8: You will be called randomly again and will be asked to Pay 400 pesos and will be assigned to a room number for a seminar.

Step 9: you will be told to get inside the first room for Anti human trafficking film showing first

Step 10: You will then be asked to join your respective seminar rooms.

Step 11: Seminar takes 3 hours or less

Step 12: one on one session with a counselor, they will be asking some questions and if they are satisfied with it, they will let you sign the form they have with them and then ask you to follow them at the front desk to receive your certificate.

Step 13: you will be asked to make copies of your passport and CFO certificate so they could proceed on stamping your passport with a CFO sticker when you already have your visa on hand.

In my case they asked me:

When did you meet with your fiance?

Where did you meet

How old are you?

How old is you fiance?

Have you been married?

Has your fiancee been married?

What proof can you provide to prove your fiance is single?

Can you show me pictures of you and your Fiance?

During the seminar the counselor mentioned that it is very important to know your partner especially his history. If your partner had a divorce from the previous partner, you should have known what made their marriage not to work. Or if the previous wife died, whats the reason of death. Also, for divorced Fiancees make sure to bring divorce certificates.

Bring complete documents to show proof of your ongoing relationship.

Be as prepared as you are at the US embassy. You cant fly out of the country (Philippines) without a CFO sticker even if you already have a visa ready and a plane ticket!

The seminar gives you awareness of what you should do to make a relationship work,helps you prepare for your departure,gives you idea for future application on adjustment of status to citizenship.

A few notes:

We got there at 6:00AM and was #11 in line and the small crowd outside was let in right after we got there. We went upstairs and were given a number. By 7Am the room was full so I would recommend not risking it and getting there between 5:30 and 6:00 no later.

Another thing. I (Dan) as the US petitioner was told I had to wait outside. I tried to come in later and I sat next to Alona for only 5 minutes and was told I had to leave. So as helpful as I wanted to be for this whole process, I went through the medical and the embassy interview, the Philippine Govt kicked me out....

What if the only forms of photo ID are Voters ID and Passport I know in the US the Passport is the ultimate ID but I dont' know about the Phils. The "2 forms of photo id" and passport are listed separately.

I hope the passport/visa combo and voter id will work fine because my fiancee just told me she gave her only copies of nbi, cenomar, and birth certificate to the embassy..even though I told her to make sure she has extras. Her wallet was lost while in Manila doing her visa interview and has no other ids. Everything has been smooth sailing up until this point and it would suck if this is the one thing we have a hiccup at.

Why didn't CFO suggest the x wife to show up in CFO so she could give her side of why the marriage didn't work?

IF the previous wife died, Did CFO suggest to have the body dug up, and a have another autopsy performed ?

My fiancee had my divorce certificate and the entire divorce settlement agreement. CFO (Cebu) said they wanted both. I'm not entirely sure if it would have been a problem if she didn't have the settlement agreement, but my fiancee told me that it was important that she had the settlement agreement to give to them.

See this is just the opposite of what the Mexican Government information they give to their people who come here illegally.
