Or the e-mail address of the American Citizen Services of China? This is in connection to my problem obtaining a Chinese Police Clearance that i need for my US visa process. Thank you so much!

The US State Department cannot help you obtain a Chinese police certificate, neither can consular personnel at the Embassy or the Consulates in China. Have you contacted the Chinese Embassy in your country?

Contact info for U.S. Embassy in China here

seems like in China you go to the Local Police department to apply and then once you receive you need to get it translated! Source here

My two cents, from my experience, is that you shouldn't get your police certificate too soon. Certainly not before they send you the notice that they're working on your visa case. We did that, and now we need to get another one, as ours expired. They only have a time of one year.

That white booklet stating you have no police record is what you are speaking of, right?

In either case, I wish you both luck!

What I was talking about was an official document from the police station stating that you have not committed any crimes (or the crimes you have committed, if you have). It comes as a white booklet, about the size of a normal sheet of paper. It needs to be translated and notarized. My wife calls it "innocence paper", so that may be closer to the Chinese words. It's just a police report, but expires after 1 year.

If that's not what you were referring to, then I misunderstood your first post, sorry!

if you were in china on a student visa, the school you were at can help you obtain a police clearance certificate.

if you were working in china LEGALLY, then the placement office in the PI that you used can get the clearance for you also.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Oh no! I still need to obtain that document. I do not have that yet, im going to send request to have this clearance. I never thought it would be this complicated. If i've known ahead i would have gotten that police certificate before going home to manila.

Anyway, thank you Luigi for the info, i appreciate it!

Hi Darnell,

I enter China with an L visa...then it was my employer who process for my residence permit when i was already there. I stayed in CHina for only a year working as an English teacher. I know my case is a bit complicated, that's why im trying to get whatever help i can from people here on VJ. And so far, some are very helpful to share their thoughts and experiences to me. Thank you very much!

No problem. We got my wife's when I asked her to get her birth certificate, too. It was a little bit of a mistake, but a little bit our only option. her uncle did it for us (both of them), and he isn't one to help people, despite how easy it was for him to do it. He made 1 phone call for both documents. Anyway, that was a little before we even sent the first package out, so it waited 4 months, doing absolutely nothing. Just a word of warning, as that idea never occurred to me at the time.

So, if you've still got that huge wait to be processed, it's not a bad thing you didn't get it, yet, in my opinion (aside from it not being so easy when you're out of the country).

Either way, good luck to you!

That's nice, good for you that you had your wife's uncle to help you with your process. I guess, i need to wait for further notice from my attorney. I just wanted to do something while waiting for our visa application. I know this is going to be a long wait, and we don't want to have delays later on in our visa process that's why i seek help from people here on VJ. Well, a big good luck to us. I will post updates later as we go along with this process.

Thank you ALL!!!!!

The company you worked for in China can help you (also) to obtain the PCC. Are you in contact with them about this, or no ?
