NO NOA2 to send with AOS!

Hey guys. For the AOS they want to see my NOA2 (I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval Notice from USCIS) but I never received this. Only a letter giving me my appointment date and time. Is this REALLY necessary because technically I would not have got the Visa in my passport if I was not approved, which they also want a copy of.

Anyone else had this problem??

You will need to get in touch with USCIS to get a copy sent to you since it was their error... its very important you do this asap.

This Topic came-up a few Months ago about the NOA2. Having a Copy. I felt it was not important. Members beat the Hell out of Me!... But I did research on responses and I was wrong. They say: A Copy is about $400.00 USD! I found that to be Correct. So thats up in the air... The above advice is good. State: I never recieved a NOA2. ..

I'm wondering if you're confused what it is. Your fiance's I-129F petition was approved Oct 13. The USC who filed would have gotten a written approval notice in the mail. It is nothing to do with the letter from London telling you the appoinment date. It looks like this--

I was signed up on the USCIS website. Just kept checking each day until it got updated.

Make an infopass appointment about the missing NOA2. Show them the K-1 visa in your passport. They should be able to print you out something to show the 129F was approved. You could also include a copy of the letter you got from NVC showing the 129F was approved and being forwarded to the consulate. That's what I would do before spending $400. I think that worked for Hannah and Vito a UK couple.

How about the online status thing. Do some kind of screenprint that shows approval status with Case number in the white box on the left.

Are you the UKC? If so it would have gone to hubby.

I tracked down the case I remember, but there have been others. It's very long and convoluted. In summary Hannah called USCIS a bunch. She filed service requests. Something in there about it would take 2 months. She filed without NOA2---just letter explaining, email notice, and maybe letter from NVC saaying the approved petition had been sent to London. Got biometrics and interview. Still hoped for a replacement NOA2 in time for the interview. She's a worrier. It came. At interview she was approved without them even asking about the NOA2 not being in the file. I know. Too bad they did not bother to update anymore and allow others to know how it worked out for them for future reference.

My AOS was approved without the NOA2 copy too.

In lieu of the I-797 approval notice (NOA2), I submitted

- National Visa Center letter,stated that the I-129F was approved and that the petition will be forwarded to the consulate.

- Infopass letter & the USCIS computer print out(by the local USCIS officer) shown the I-129F petition was approved.

- US Consulate processing K1 visa letter

- my K1 visa stamp & I-94 entry stamp

- USCIS website case status online print out, showing the I-129F was approved.

- NOA1, receipt to show that we did file for the I-129F petition

- USCIS case status update emails

My AOS I-485 was accepted and transferred to CSC for processing, no AOS interview. There was no RFE for the missing NOA2.

My AOS I-485 was approved within 3 months.
