HOW TO TRACK YOUR CASE FROM NVC TO EMBASSY

I tried using the instructions on another post but it did not help me. Thanks to Lari&Jhona we discovered the trick. Please keep in mind that the shipment sent out to the embassy could be a packet with several petitions. Also, the date that the Visa Specialist tells you your petition has been forwarded on may not be the date it was actually shipped. So you need to play around with the dates a little.:blink:

1. click on this link ---> DHL track by Reference

2. Using the date provided from NVC of when your case left, ie.) April 27, 2011. Enter reference number as : EXP 27 APR 2011A exactly as is with the spaces.

3. Put in a range of dates in the next field of information and click TRACK. and Ta Da!!

After that you will get a list of packages sent from the Department of State on that date. Look for the country where your interview will take place. In my case its Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and I found a package on page 3 of that list. You can then click on the red tracking number for more details of the package sent and it will tell you if it has been delivered or just arrived to the DHL facility in that country etc.

Hope this helps!! Thanks Lari once again!! :)

Hey guys,

I'm not sure how to do this. I received an email from NVC saying that they have processed our case and gave us the new case number and said that it has been forwarded to the respective consulate but they did not give the exact date that it was sent out. So i just used the date that i received the email...which is June 3rd, but there were no shipments on that date. What should I do? Play around with the dates? I really wanna know where that package is right now. Lol. Curiosity.

I think, under your link you've provided there is no "range of dates in the next field of information".

Your link only gives option to enter a tracking number.

So, this is the link where this option available and it worked for me. Although, I'm kinda surprised that there was only one package sent from the NVC on November 3rd to Montreal and delivered on November 4th.
