Hello everyone:)

Me and my husband are not done with USCIS yet,but i wanna be prepared with the NVC process since i noticed that it plays a big role in the timing of it when people know about the process and have it's things paid online and all,and i have seen james's shorcuts(http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Jame%27s_Shortcut),and i noticed that there is another one supposedly updated(http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/117-time-savers-for-nvc-plus-knowing-your-case-%23/page__st__135__p__885374#entry885374) although i noticed when people recommend it they refer to the old one,so my 2 questions are:-

1)Which one should i use,i know normally the updated one,but idk, just to be sure

2)Are the NVC addresses on it and all,are they up to date?since it goes to way back in 2005

3)does everyone in Visa journey that wants to deal with NVC online and all,do you all use james's shorcuts or other refrences?

Thank you all:)

You will get updated addresses when you pay online through the payment portal and print out the cover sheet. I used LingChe shortcut mostly which is here:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

But I read through pretty much all of them to get the information and asked here as well if I was confused. Everyone is ready to help you here, but always good to go through the guides and familiarize yourself with it first than ask questions if needed. Goodluck through the journey, hope you get your approval soon :star:

Congrats on getting a head start to the NVC!!

I used James and Ling Che's short cuts LOL. Best thing possible is to get ALL the documents you can from your husband so you can be ready to send in each one of the packets to the NVC when they are ready for it.

Once you get your 2nd NOA showing the I-130 was approved, wait about a week and call the NVC and you can use the automated response to put in your receipt number from the NOA to see if they have assigned your case number yet. Once you get that, call the NVC and give them BOTH yours and your hubby's email address that way you can do everything necessary online...MUCH quicker than the snail mail!

I don't want to give you too much info yet, it'll just confuse you! So good luck on everything and we are here to help you!

After your I130 is approved, NVC will assign you a case number.

You will have to give your email address to an operator and you will receive the AOS/DS3032 in your inbox in about 3-4 days.

Pay the AOS bill and the beneficiary will email the DS3032. The VJ template is sufficient.

This should help you understand the NVC processing stage--

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay 400$ & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before sending in your packages.

5) Mail your DS230 package to your USC spouse as soon as you get your NOA2. That way he/she can overnight it to NVC as soon as the IV bill clears.

6) Get your taxes, employment letter, paystubs, PCCs, civil documents etc. while you wait for the NOA2.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-10 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Thank you for your advice:)i don't know if i can get the police records now though as in Egypt it's only valid for 3 months, something like that, and i don't have my NOA2 yet,i just wanted to be prepared before it so we can go through it as fast as we could!i am not sure also as to when i should get them cause,i read somewhere on visa journey that the police records better be as close to the interview as possible,so do i get one before the NVC process, then get another, again before the interview just in case?or what?:)Thanks again:)and Goodluck on your journey:)
