I thought I had read all the instructions and then the suggestions.

What is the proper way to bind? I just put it in a manila folder and placed it inside a mailing envelope.

Thanks

Of course, I didn't see this until after I sent the package. However, I don't think it's a big problem.

a. Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.

b. Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

c. The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.

d. Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

e. Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required (Forms I-94, Labor certifications, etc). Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

Tom, I think you are doing fine. Most folks seem to send WAY too much evidence and extra stuff. We bound nothing and had zero trouble at the petition stage. :secret:

No worries about how you bind it. Just make sure it all gets stuffed in the envelope.

Good luck

when it arrives at the VSC or CSC, no matter what you did, they disassemble it and put it in their own order and THEY use staples, but only after it is ordered how they want. Not to worry. It is important only that it all arrives.

Hi Tom and Tanya,

You are not alone

I had a really hard time finding this subforum, so maybe more people will start finding it.

The hardest part of this fantastic journey is the waiting. But, time will pass quicker than you think. Manuel and I had originally filed in April 2009, but needed to refile. (Don't get concerned because of this, Manuel and I just ran into paperwork glitches. Our glitches were the odds of 'one in a million'. Let us introduce ourselves... We are the 'one in a million') So, we are starting over.

VJer's are a wonderful group of people who answer questions :help: ,laugh with you , cry with you :crying: , and cheer you on  .

Have a wonderful journey and keep us posted!

Kathy

Heyas! Joey (American) and I (Canadian) are also February filers!

Good luck to everyone. We're super anxious ourselves :)

Quick question, would anyone know what forms I should begin to gather while we're waiting for the NOA's to bounce around? From what I've read so far (here and there) I'll need to have my police check and an extended birth certificate (not the typical wallet sized one). Any others I should be prepared to gather?

Thanks!!
