Case transfred to FPU(fraud prevention unit)

My case transfered to FPU(fraud prevention unit)... I got an email from NDFPU@state.gov saying we are reviewing your documents and we will contact u asap...

Well wat the heck is FPU .. Does it takes longer then normal AP ??

Anybody went under this?? Well now i can see no hopes now.. Seems like its finished now...

It appears that while under AP they've decided that it bears further consideration that this might be a fraudulent petition. That's why they've transferred to this area. It's highly probable that there will be another interview to help them determine whether fraud was involved...whether it be in the evidence of a bona fide relationship, or with documentation you submitted. I'm so sorry that this journey has been so turbulent for you!

Sometimes they do home visits, sometimes interviews, sometimes document checks. . . in India there are frequently home visits and family interviews.

Did you get another 221(g) stating it was being sent back to the USCIS? They do that if they suspect fraud, but have no evidence. The USCIS will conduct it's own investigation and either:

1-Agree with the consulate and send you a NOIR (Notice of Intent to Revoke). They give you an opportunity to prove your case

2-Disagree with the consulate and send it back to the consulate with instructions to issue the visa

This happened to us, and we got the NOIR. I sent in my rebuttal and our petition was reaffirmed. They sent it back to the consulate and my husband got the visa. It took an additional 15 months from the first interview, and that was considered speedy.

Yes it can go back to the USCIS... most likely a USCIS foreign field office that has jurisdiction over your locale but that is another story

I believe this is normal my wife had to do this in Hong Kong while we were waiting for an interview and she was a Filipino working there

It took additional time like 2 weeks before we would receive a interview date

We had to deposit 650 Philippines Peso in a Hong Kong bank and notify the American Consulate of the deposit

what they exactly did i don't know

We had the same concerns but we were not hiding anything and going by the book so nothing to worry

If your case gets sent back to USCIS, you will be waiting for a long time. My case was sent back after review from the FPU as well. My case sat in USCIS for two years and got absolutley nothing out of them I sent letters, called repeatedly and got no response. Advice from lawyer to refile and be present during the interview. I can't wait till I see the looks on their faces when I show up at the interview with over 6 inch stack of papers just because they delayed my wife and I being together.
