For those of you who are case complete/already done with the visa, a question about the interview: I received case complete on Monday. When should I start calling to ask about my interview date? The "Visa status check" still says my case is at NVC. Do I need to wait until it is at the Stockholm embassy?

I scheduled mine after the embassy sent me Packet 3 via e-mail, but I scheduled my Medical as soon as I received my case number.

You might be able to schedule the interview when the embassy has your case file, the status will say "Ready" when that happens.

For the AOS it says you need to fill out the I-693 form but that you don't need another medical examination if you're adjusting from a K-1 within a year from when you had the medical done in your country.

Only 1 page out of 9 is for me to fill in - the rest is for "interpreter" and "civil surgeon". Most parts of the I-693 says stuff like "civil surgeon's contact information, certification and signature" and "to be completed by civil surgeon".. so should I bring this form with me to the medical in Sweden so he can fill it out and sign it? Or are those parts not meant to be filled out at all? Should I even send in this form at all for the AOS? It's confusing.

You don't have to bring that form to the medical. The doctor will have everything he needs to fill out. Make sure you get a copy of the medical. I got my copy at the embassy but I've heard some doesn't get it. For AOS (correct me if I'm wrong!) if I remember correcly the only thing I sent in for AOS was the page with my vaccinations and proof I didn't have TB and Syphilis.

Yes, I know I need copies of the medical, I'll make sure to ask for that when I'm there. Hopefully the i-693 isn't needed for the AOS then, it was just confusing.

Did you have to translate the medical and x-ray papers or they were both in English? The proof of no TB and syphilis is in the medical papers, right?

I never had to translate anything. The X-Ray came on a CD (those may be obsolete nowadays), and the medical was sent directly from the doctor to the embassy - I never actually saw the medical.

Still the case in Norway. I got the sealed X-ray CD and a copy of the vaccination sheet, everything else I never saw.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

How do you prove you don't have syphilis and TB when you file for AOS if you only get the vaccination records? And do you send in the CD too?

Does anyone know when NVC recieves word from the embassy about avalible dates? I know it´s at the end of every month but since it´s a us holiday on monday will NVC recieve avalible dates this week instead?

Nope, Unilabs Majorstuen does that. They are the only lab approved in Norway. You need a "rekvisisjon" from the panel physician to book the appointment. They forward the results directly to the Dr, and you get the CD we need to hand carry to the US.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

You do not send the CD, but I guess it theoretically could be asked for.

You would not have received a visa if you had tested positive for either of those, so that is some proof I guess ;-)

Aha.. ok, so when I receive my NVC case number I can book the physical,..when I'm there, the doctor will give me the requisition for X-rays and I'll have to see them after the physical?
