Hi Everyone,

Great news, We are in the U.S!!!

POE was on April 15th,

Does anyone know how long it will take for the Social Security # in the mail?

We checked off YES on receiving one, on the DS-230 form when we applied. I am not sure if that means they will 100% send it or not. Or do I need to go into the local SS office and file it officially.

If someone could fill me in on their experience.

I appreciate the help. Its all been very helpful.

We checked yes, but didn't receive it in the mail. I think we went to the SS office about a week after POE to apply, although, it could have been sooner. My husband needed proof of applying to receive his paycheck, so we were in a hurry.

I was wondering how long it usually takes to get the NOA2? We recieved our first NOA on March 10th, but haven't heard a word since then. Should we be worried?

No, if you look at the march group you'll see many before that date still waiting also :) it's about 65-90 days right now. But some are faster and slower then that.

For those of you who are case complete/already done with the visa, a question about the interview: I received case complete on Monday. When should I start calling to ask about my interview date? The "Visa status check" still says my case is at NVC. Do I need to wait until it is at the Stockholm embassy?

Congratulations! Feels like we should've done the CR-1 visa too, it's faster than the K-1. :D

We received RFE on March 22nd.. would have had NOA2 earlier if it wasn't for that. We discussed the different options that we had, and decided that the CR-1 was the best one for us. Normally it is not faster,.. however, once I get there I can start applying for jobs immediately. I'm super excited that we finally got our petition approved. Can't wait to finally (in a few months) go live with my love. After almost 8 years, it's finally going to happen.
