Beneficiary Change of Address

My fiancee (beneficiary) is soon moving to a new address (same city). Does anyone know if its necessary and how I would go about changing her address for the I-129F Petition? Can it be done at the USCIS site or must it be done another way?

Thanks!

Tyler

Only the petitioner can register a change of address vis USCIS whilst the petition is awaiting approval. The beneficiary must wait until the file reaches NVC before being able to do this.

OK, so all I have to do is register the change of address online with USCIS shortly after she moves? Then she waits until the file reaches NVC before making any other changes?

It can be done on the USCIS website. https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa
NOT Correct, benificiary is not in the USA as an Alien Resident, AR-11 is only for aliens in the USA.

Wait until after NOA2 and then when NVC has the case, you contact NVC and get address changed, or wait until NVC sends it to consulate, and contact DOS Visa services and get address changed.

The form you were directed to is for US residents only. It's unclear because it says non-citizens but there is no means of changing a foreign address.

I know this because I am the beneficiary and moved a month or so after filing and looked into it myself. We just got approved recently and I am now phoning NVC daily to try and register my new address so that I can be certain of receiving Packet 3. I think if you miss NVC you can also register the change with the relevant embassy. They have to have your application though.

So, you will have to wait until after you receive NOA2. As far as I know anyway :)

Your best bet is to wait until after your approval and after your approved petition reaches the consulate where your fiancee will have her visa interview. You can contact the consulate directly, referencing the new case #you will have from the NVC (your petition will go there after it is approved by USCIS, and it will receive a new #) and give the consulate your fiancee's new address for them to send the Packet 3 to. My fiancee at the time had the same situation, he moved while we were waiting for approval, and I just contacted the consulate directly once I knew our case was there....and changed the address. :)

Good luck,

-P

Just successfully registered my new address with NVC. Worth trying to call them every day after you receive NOA2 so you can do this. Good luck! :)

So, just to update this post based on my experience...

I called NVC to ask about changing the beneficiary's address. They were very nice and told me that I can change the address while it is at the NVC but they MUST have the case in hand. She said they generally have it for about a week and then it is sent to the Embassy. If the address doesn't get changed while at the NVC, it is possible to contact the embassy and have them change it.

I tried calling after 2 weeks of receiving the NOA2 and they have not received the case yet. So, perhaps the best bet to change an address is about 2-4 weeks (plus a week-long buffer that they will have it) of receiving the NOA2.
