question about service center processing date

What does the service center processing date tell us? I am looking at CA center and it says the processing date is July 19, 2007. But we are still waiting for our NOA2, and our online status still says on July 17, they received our application. Should I contact the USCIS and make a fuss about this?

They are always behind. People from May and June are still waiting.

I dont want to sound like a jerk or to discredit your claims, but where did you hear it from that people from May and June are still waiting? I have been and been told to be patient for over half a year, but it seems to be going nowhere - at least other folks who are waiting got touched every once in a while, but in our case, the status never changed a bit, and contacting the congress office was nothing more than a disappointment.

And my question is still unanswered. What does that posted date mean? Is that the date that we are supposed to get NOA2? or is that the date we are supposed to receive the materials for the interview?

Have you been touched?

If not, I think you should inquire. You should have been processed or at least touched by now.

The date I believe they are posting is just FYI-general information. I believe they are on August/September filers.

I know I should, but how? I contacted USCIS customer service, and was getting the standard protocol #######. Contacted the local congressman's office, and it took them three frigging weeks to make a call, and the reply was doing a background check, so it was impossible to know how much longer it will take.

Nothing.

What it's supposed to tell you is they are working on files received up to the posted date. So as of January 15, 2008 it shows CA is processing I-129f K1 received up to July 19, then they should be working on your file now. However, only after they show a processing date of August 17, 2007 should you be calling them. At least that is what my lawyer AND my congressperson said to me. So yeah, you're pretty much $hit outta luck until they post their next update prolly on or after February 15, 2008. But not to worry because I just got my NOA 2 243 days after filing. You read it right. And I'm in Canada so I honestly don't know about this whole 'brotherhood' thing.

I don't think you will have to wait 243 days. Hope that makes you feel better. I'm sure it won't. But trust me, not many in the May/June 2007 K1 filers have the right to 81tc# like me.

Just gotta wait, brother. We called and was told, "Don't bother callin till it's 30 days PAST your processing date." Pffft whatever. Eat some more donuts you fat ####.

thanks man, for speaking out what I wanted to say. no $hit, I thought my tax dollar would have more effectiveness locally, but hell no, the woman from the congressman's office put my inquiry on hold for 3 fooking weeks, and won't even answer her goddamn phone. only after making several trips to confront her in person, she unwillingly made a call and then told me to be patient and wait for more days.

I certainly don't want to wait for 243 days, but as of now, we are only few days away from the 200 mark, and it is possible I will have to make the call "30 days past" my processing date, which will be somewhere around 230 days.

Have you tried using the "RFE trick" when you call? Mox has the phone number stuff on his signature. You'll usually get to a person who knows a little bit more than the front line phone people.

I am trying my best to avoid this trick. someone once told me NOT to call USCIS too often, or they will be ticked off and somewhat intetionally slow down the process. although the credibility of that statement is questionable, i still take it somewhat seriously. besides, we have been waiting for this long already, just 30 more days i can ask them for an inquiry fair and square, so there is no need to jeopardize it.

But still, does this RFE trick really work, even when you dont have an RFE? How many people have done it before?

I dont think i've heard of them slowing down on purpose... but they probably can make the account/case as a "problematic" case

I know this is freaking crazy. I have been waiting for over 6 months since NOA1, and nothing new.

My fiance called yesterday and they said we should be approved within a few weeks. Well, it can be 6-7 more weeks. Sooo insane,
