You are also advised to check ceac.state.gov for your visa status (you'll need to register online for this)....website says to contact the US Embassy if you do not receive the visa withing 2-5 business days. We went straight to the US Embassy on day 5. SO's visa was just sitting there---it never made it to the document pick-up location listed. Embassy apologized....and SO had his visa within 15 min. We jumped straight into a cab to the Caribbean Airlines office in Georgetown and changed our return flight from Havana to Fort Lauderdale for the NEXT DAY. I wasn't about to stay in Guyana not one minute longer than necessary. I also purchased 2 one-way 'Wanna Get Away" tickets on Southwest Airlines from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta (Final Destination).
